So my friend and I got in a debate over which superhero has the best rogue gallery. He said Spider-Man, I said Batman. But I started to wonder why Batman. Because of the variety of powers each one possesses? Because of the lack of cliched evil versions (Zoom to Flash, Bizarro to Superman, Venom to Spider-Man)? Because the majority could be based in reality? Because of sheer number?

Because batman's rogue gallery is depressing.

For me it's just because he has a colorful yet believable collection. You could look at villains ranging from Joker to Poison Ivy to Bane to Ras al Ghul to The Mad Hatter. All incredibly different and very strange. Yet not crossing a line into Saturday morning cartoon ridiculous.

Batman has such a great variety of villains that makes his rogue gallery better than any other rogue gallery

It ain't, they are cheesy characters , with cheesy names, and very few are super powered.
