Batman is what he is.
He doesn't hide it,he is Batman,and people love him because of that.

He has a strong sense of justice,and he's often a prick about it.

People hate Batman because it's cool to hate on popular things and due to character-envy.

This should be locked for stupidity.

..well we can't all like the same things.....Batman haters are outnumbered by his many fans...not like Hulk who seems to have more haters on the Vine than fans....

This Batman guy is starting to sound really overrated.

I honestly can't fathom anyone not liking Batman. There's so may different interpretations out there. There's a bunch I don't like, like Frank Miller's Dark Knight Strikes Again Batman or Scott Snyder's Batman, but he's still my favorite character. If I hated every interpretation in the comics then I'd have the movies and TV shows. If the only interpretation I liked was Batman TAS, he'd still be my favorite. Luckily I love a lot!

Yep, its taken me a while to catch up but I am finally getting through all the Comic Book classics. I bought Year One last autumn, but some reason took a bit of time to get TDKR. I have a copy of Miller's Daredevil classic the man without fear arriving any day too, along with Kraven the Hunter....! Both books I am sure you approve of....

Nah Batman hasn't done anything to piss off fan bases of other characters in years,and it's really no different from the crap Captain America or any other street level character pulls on a regular basis when they are thrown in to similar situations.

The current Batman hate is two fold,first of all a good chunk of the internet comic community holds him responsible for the other characters not getting their own movies,TV shows and games.

Secondly Geoff Johns has made it cool to hate Batman,the hate has risen astronomically in the last 2 years. Basically Johns makes Batman look like a loser every time he writes him,this way he riles up the Batman fans and he makes another character look cooler at Batman's expense which leads to a war between the Batman and Johns fanboys and the end result is Batman looking bad cause he's more popular.

Does Batman really have that much haters?

I don't hate him but still that Dernman > the goddamn Batman.
