Who wishes that Michael Keaton had played batman a 3rd time and Tim Burton had directed it

not me, I am really picky with who plays Batman and so far haven't found the right actor yet. (George Clooney was the closest to being the best, if only he didn't have such an awful director). My pick for the next one would be Jake Gyllenhall

I would have loved it but it's way way to late now. With Burton's style, I think a good villain would have been Scarecrow.

George Clooney sucked, even he says he is the worst Batman actor ever.

@DeathpooltheT1000: Let me try to rephrase he had the best potential. George Clooney is an amazing actor, he just got screwed by an awful vision. Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton, and Christian Bale are all really dry when it comes to acting. Bale only got lucky cause he had an awesome director but can we all aree he was one of the worst characters in Nolanverse, which is a shame cause the movie is about Batman... Plus I am really picky for anyone to represent my hero, so no one is gonna come close but they can try.

@batshrine: D&D was an awful movie and Jeremy Irons was amazing in that movie, the same could be said about many movies.

Clooney is not a good actor, Gosseling destroy him in The Ides of March, besides he was the worst actor in the Oceans movies, he is the main example of a guy that just say hey look at how liberal i am and people belive he was good, people belive that actors with Messiah Complex are good.

Micheal Keaton could be awful as an actor, Kilmer got screwed by time, but Bale is an amazing actor, say that Clooney is better actor that Bale, a guy that won an Oscar and cares about acting more that being a celebrity because he dont have messiah complex.

Maybe Batman wasnt his best job, but Dicky Eklund, Pastor John, John Rolfe, Patrick Bateman, Jesus and Trevor Reznik show how amazing he is as an actor.

Clooney only cares about being a celebrity and his liberal messiah complex.

A third time? I wish he had never played Batman at all. Seriously, easily the worst Batman ever.

#9 Posted by adamrolls (35 posts) - 4 months, 23 days ago - Show Bio

Keaton/Burton Batman has been the closest batman I've seen in live action film. He is mysterious...Frightening..and barely speaks. Tim Burton captures the atmosphere of Gotham . So yes I would have loved to seen a third movie with them..
and for all the previously stated reasons are why the keaton/burton batman is superior to the nolanverse batman

I've read the script proposed by Tim burton. It involves having the riddler as the main villain without two face, an African American street kid who has a combination of dick graysons and Jason Todd's back story. The riddler is played by robin Williams and there were no casting choices at the time for robin. It would be similar to the one that Joel Schumacher made except batman basically again doesn't get explored as a character. It would be about the riddler and the stranger that would become robin.

Yes. Keaton was my favourite Batman, and the Burton films were the inspiration for Batman: TAS...

#12 Posted by TheSwordsman (1954 posts) - 4 months, 23 days ago - Show Bio

No way. That series was terrible.

#13 Posted by neale7 (72 posts) - 4 months, 23 days ago - Show Bio

@theswordsman. How was Batman:TAS terrible? Its still the best animated batman and superhero cartoon to date

#14 Posted by neale7 (72 posts) - 4 months, 23 days ago - Show Bio

Yyeah i wish Keaton had done another film. Apparently Burton was gonna make as dark and gothic as returns, and warner bros restricted him to producer. Keaton left after the script was toned down, and was not happy with burton not being director. Keaton was ace!

Yuck. Poopy Keaton and Burton. I absolutely hated the Burton/Keaton run on Batman. Someone said that they capture the air of Gotham City? Was that before or after Penguin was raised in the sewers by ACTUAL PENGUINS and had thugs rolling around on STILTS. Burton hadn't even read the comics to draw inspiration for the movies. Burton absolutely ruined Batman.

NO...Keaton was a good batman but THE WORST BRUCE WAYNE ever

#18 Posted by ImTheDamnBatman (2755 posts) - 4 months, 23 days ago - Show Bio

Also Keaton didn't have the physique or skill of Batman. He was just a rich guy in a suit.

#19 Posted by MrShway88 (499 posts) - 4 months, 23 days ago - Show Bio

@ImTheDamnBatman

He did have the detective and science skills of Batman. Thats how he stopped Joker's plans. I will admit he didn't have the physique when he was out of costume but thats perfect for a secret identity. While he was in costume, he was almost perfect. Used stealth, kept his gadgets mostly to batarangs and the grapling hook, and had the prefect voice for the few times he spoke.

this is so true... Batshrine..Out of all the Batmans you pick George clooney as the best wow do you even like Batman my god. Thank you deathpoolthet1000 for speaking the truth

I wish Warner Brothers would have allowed Burton to make the third wish he really wanted to but the studio said he had better projects to persue because they didnt want a Dark Batman anymore....And then we got left with two campy sequals and a bad taste in our mouths until Nolan came.

it would have been cool to see him play batman again, but no i'd settle for old bruce wayne like in the batman beyond series.
michael keaton made a better batman. no dog barking voice, mysterious, scary and intimidating.

christian Bale made a good bruce wayne, by showing the internal struggle and toll of being batman.

I have to admit that I really disliked his Batman/Bruce. Most of it has to do with the script, sincemass murderer Batman is a no go for me. They did that better in the Nolan movies, where he tried to avoid killing people, but did it if there was no other option left, like when he took out the Truckdriver and Talia at the end of TDKR. Apart from that, Keaton had never the looks for the role, in my eyes. Sure, he did the crazy thing pretty well and it fit into the world of the movies, but he was too small and weird looking. I kinda liked some of his acting in the suit, but overall I am happy that he only did two movies. Again, most faults I see with the movies are coming from Burton, but Keaton didn't blew me away either. Still, would've loved to see what he would've done with the role under another (read better) director/writers hand.

i thought he made a good bruce wayne as well.

I mentioned in my previous post what Tim burton's version of batman forever would have been like. I feel that and this is my opinion that Tim burton gets way too much credit for the success of his films. It basically boiled down to the cast, special effects and the acting behind it rather than the scripts or any of the choices by Tim burton. This is mainly because Tim burton had little experience at the time and after made some movies that were ok at best but quite a few that were mediocre( planet of the apes anyone?) and he almost would have made superman lives which was infamous before it was even green lite. Heck it was infamous before he came on board and still was during that time he was on board.

#32 Posted by Skewer (325 posts) - 4 months, 6 days ago - Show Bio

The first one that came out was ok although I really seem to be a minority but I really didn't like batman returns. Joel shumacher almost had a good story with batman forever but fell short in the execution and made a few very bad choices in batman forever. IMO if Joel had left out two face for another movie and focused on the riddler and had not cut the scene with Bruce Wayne in the cave with his fathers journal it would have been a great film but really wasted a lot of potential with a lot of the choices he's made on his own.
