I think it is Jim Gordon
Batman

Who is the best friend of the batman?
before the New 52 I would have said either Superman, Jim Gordon, or Dick
now? I don't think he really has a best friend
Alfred... Bestfriend, father-figure, butler, medic, slave....
this
Alfred is more of his father while Dick is his prodigal son( sorry Damian).
But these are his best friends
I think his best friends would probably be (in approximate order): Alfred, Dick Grayson, Jim Gordon, and Superman.
Alfred... Bestfriend, father-figure, butler, medic, slave....
lol, this
Alfred is more of his father while Dick is his prodigal son( sorry Damian).
But these are his best friends
i agree.
i guess Clark... and i agree with everyone who said Alfred is like a father figure and Dick more like a protege
Him and Aquaman seems to be good friends now, but im pretty DC good shoehorn Supes in as the best friend in the new 52 SOON.
Batman doesn't have a true best friend. There isn't anyone who truly "gets" him. Except maybe Joker. And he's not his friend.
Batman doesn't have friends. He has enemies, allies, and acquaintances.
True
@thejester: I agree.
...but, for the sake of the thread, I think the closest thing Batman has to a friend is Jim Gordon. I would say Alfred, but I see Alfred more as family.
@fodigg: Nice! Forgot about Ace.
Harold Allnut, people often forget him, but he used to be his best friend and make most of Batman gadgets.
Thomas Elliot used to be Bruce's best friend until the events of Hush. Superman is more of an ally. Alfred is like a father. All the robins and batgirls are more like sons and daughters. And some are his adopted children. Batman has no true friends, but Clark kent would be the closest. They are around the same age and have equal respect for each other, and neither has more authority so they aren't like son and father. But he is still more of an ally
Dick is pretty much his son and alfred his father - that would make it either jim or supes and that really depends on the writer/story.
in the new 52, i think its superman. in the second arc of JL the members was saying how batman trusts no one until supes declared he only trusts him. Also, i think it was the cheetah issue when superman became a cheetah, batman got pretty emotional about having his friend saved.
and also i think aquaman and bruce have been getting pretty close, i like they interactions
Bruce and Nightwing aren't really a father-son thing, the way they interect reminds me of a buddy cop movie.
I would say either Dick or Alfred are Batman's best friend, though Superman's best friend is Batman.
Alfred of course! He's been Bruce/Batman's loyalist ally and faithful butler since the being of his origin, Jim Gordan and Clark come secondly.
