I saw something interesting while re-reading the "No Man's Land" comics. When they bury Sarah Essen-Gordon, you can read what is said on a tombstone off to the corner:

    "IN MEMORY JOHN MACKENZIE 1892-1941"

I thought it was extremely odd. I looked it up on Wikipedia and found a people with the same name, but not the same birth and death dates. I couldn't find anything in Comic Vine. I have a feeling it is a writer or an artist who had fun and threw a family name in as a way of memorializing them in the conclusion of a major storyline. I may do some digging if I get bored tomorrow.

So who else is buried there, permanently?

    The Elliots

    The Waynes

    Essen-Gordon

    The Graysons?

    A Drake?

I really don't know as many comic characters refuse stay dead and the others are villains.

Tim's parents might have been buried there but I'm not so sure about the Grayson's....I don't know if they've ever shown that they were buried there or not but I would find that odd that they were since most chances are that they weren't born in Gotham...I would imagine that they would be buried wherever most of their family was buried or in the city of their birth or something like that

No takers? Names are not just put on tombstones in comics, without some sort of "nod and wink" to someone.

Dick's parents are buried in Gotham, it's shown when he visits the grave in Identity Crisis #1 and again in Blackest Night:Batman.

@OracleX: The Waynes, Drakes and Graysons are all buried in Gotham City but I believe in different cemeteries.

Well my grand father is buried on the Gotham city grave yard.

Silly old man, he told all of us he was alive.
