Which arc do you want for the next animated movie?

DC and WB love to make animated movies. Specifically about Batman. We got animated adaptations of Under the Red Hood, Year One, and will be getting The Dark Knight Returns pretty soon.

So, of all your favorite Batman stories, which one(s) do you wanna see for the next animated movie?

I personally want Hush and Knightfall.

Agree with Hush :-)

Battle for the Cowl or Hush or No mans land or Batman and Son

#4 Posted by Jane McClane (201 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago - Show Bio

Definitely No Man's Land..... then again I'm like a dog, I don't care what you feed me, so long as you say it's a treat, I'm happy ;P

No Man's Land, Knightfall, or Batman and Son.

War Games

#9 Posted by Telcalipoca (928 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago - Show Bio

war games, no mans land, contagion would love to see any of these but id love it more if they would surprise me. 2 of my favorite batman movies and best batman movies period (to me) are mask of the phantasm and subzero both of which dont share a comic counter part or are based off. Thats what i would really like to see from DC, based off are nice but new stories and representation are better.

Sucked, this storyline destroyed the whole concept of Bat crossovers(Resurrection of Ra's was editorially mandated so it does'nt count).Very OOC and accomplished nothing in the long run.But i guess if Loeb's crap could make it then so can that.

Prior to War games we had Fugitive/Murderer,NML,Contagion/Legacy,Knightfall.After that we've had nothing(RIP was'nt a crossover either).

I heard it was gonna be a two parter of The Dark Knight Returns.

#12 Posted by fury714 (549 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago - Show Bio

Either Hush, Dark Victory, No Man's Land, or RIP just for the fun of it :P

how did it destroy the concept of Bat crossovers....you're the first person I've heard say anything negative about it...one of the reasons I liked it was because I liked Batman's portrayal in it...I like Batman more when he's portrayed as a d!ck...like when he has everything planned down to the last letter and no one can tell him different and he feels that he doesn't need anyone's help to accomplish the plan

Black Mask was made this new Joker level villain which did'nt even last a year.Batman's relationship with the city/GCPD was destroyed only for him to regain it,Steph's death was retconned,it ruined Batman's relationship with Leslie only for writers to ignore it.

Basically everything that happened there bears no relevance to Batman despite the fact that it was a huge ass crossover with the rise of a new villain with supposedly earth shattering consequences none of which lasted even a year.Meh.

Then there's Batman's plan which did'nt make sense to me,how did Steph trigger the war and ofcourse the gruesome, unneccessary torture.

But heh that was the tradition of batbooks back then,Hush and Black Mask typical one trick ponies wearing cool head gear, trench coats, acting badass.blah blah.

well what other writers did after the crossover shouldn't affect the quality of the crossover it's self...as for how Steph triggered the war...it's been a while I'd have to research that a bit but I'm pretty sure they explained it....Batman's plan was if I remember right to essentially get all of the gangs of Gotham under one leader but it would be a leader of his choosing and who was working with Batman so that he could take down the gangs easier...but I think that he had recognized the problems with the plan and had abandoned it

The writers ignored it because it was just bad,and why would Batman leave an abandoned plan laying around?

I would like to see a prequel to Under the Red Hood. I just finished reading Red Hood: The Lost Days and thought it was great. I would like to see some of Frank Miller's Daredevil stories adapted into animated films.

  • Hush
  • Knightfall
  • Killing Joke
  • Long Halloween

Any one of these would be great.

I would love to have them do an original story. Bruce Timm and the DCAU team have made some great contributions to the DC mythos, why not let them continue adding more new ideas to the DC universe?

Batman and Son, narrowed Long Halloween, or Son of the Demon. Son of the Demon would be AMAZING.

Was never that fond of Knightfall, and it's the basis for Rises anyway.

I'm still down with seeing a Hush animated movie. :D

#37 Posted by entropy_aegis (12319 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago - Show Bio

I think Hush would make for the strongest adaptation despite it's many flaws,it's has the Micheal Bay formula to it,after all the Superman/Batman movies were hardly worthy of praise(they're crap),and if Under the Red Hood could get above 90%(or was it was 100) then i'm sure Hush could too.

Actual good stories will be a lot harder to animate.I don't see how one could animate Morrisons run.
