I have to admit that i am an X-men fan through and through, but I would really like to get into Batman but I don't have a clue as to where to start. I was thinking Batman Knightfall. What do you think? Any advice would be welcome :)

I went through the same thing a while ago.

You want to start with Batman: Year One. NO doubt!

Why dont you start with the New 52 - Detective Comics, Batman, Batman and Robin, The Dark Knight, he got tons of titles (theres a pretty big consensus that ''Batman'' is the best title at the moment).

''The New 52 is a 2011 revamp and relaunch by DC Comics of its entire line of ongoing monthly superhero books, in which all of its existing titles were cancelled, and 52 new series debuted in September 2011 with new #1 issues''

DC is perfect for new readers at the moment, take advantage of it. You can always go out getting Batmans older series later on.

Eh, no. Start with Year One and work your way up. Otherwise you're going to wind up thinking the Court of Owls is so original despite the basic story already having been done twice before.

When has it been done before? Haven't been reading Bats very long so I don't know, though I knew the idea definitely was not original..haha

I disagree, I think The Dark Knight Strikes Again is the best Batman story!

I started reading Batman comics in september so I have a good idea what you're going through. I grabbed myself the New 52 Batman self-titled series (there are only 6 issues out so far) and I also started reading some old runs starting with Year One, The Killing Joke and A Death In the Family. I read these three specifically because they have been confirmed to have happened in the new 52 Batman's timeline. However I've also been picking up other stories such as Hush, Year Three, Long Halloween, Ras Al Ghul, The Dark Knight Returns and The Dark Knight Strikes Again, all of which I am reading purely for there story. So yeah just pick up the New 52 Batman run and Year One, you should be good to go from there!

start with the present batman series, batman year one, and then any book you want.

my recommendation: Batman Gotham After Midnight
