What's the difference between all the Batman featured titles?

So one of my favorite comic book characters of all time is batman and when the new 52 came out I was excited. But the thing that has been bothering me is the continuity of the titles that the Dark Knight is in, (Batman, Batman: the Dark Knight, Batman and Robin, etc.). Obviously "Batman" is the main title but what I don't get is how Night of the Owls could be taking place in all these titles at the same time with stories that seem like they take place at different moments. For example, in "Batman" our hero is missing for a while in the sewers of Gotham but at the same time in Batman: the Dark Knight he is facing off with the likes of Deathstroke, Bane, and others. So, it just doesn't make sense to me as to how everything adds up, so can anyone help me understand if the titles featuring Batman happen at the same time or if some of them are non-cannon? This is really confusing.
