The only thing i dont like about batman is that he always manages to beat the hell out of the people WITH super powers. which only happens because of his popularity.

I thought the whole point of super-hero comics was to see heroes overcome odds. I'm not saying that he should be able to take on dudes like Darkseid on his own though.

Well, it's certainly stating the obvious but it's because he has no powers that makes him special.  Would the rest of DC's superheros be fighting crime if they where suddenly stripped of all their power's?  Or better yet, would they have become heroes in the first place if they had never had any powers?  Would Clark Kent have put on a custom to fight crime if he wasn't an alien from another planet, but just another normal human being?

I dunno, I had always considered Batman's popularity came from his rogues gallery. Even if Joker wasn't around he has possibly the best rogues gallery in all of comic-dom.
