I think they should give him healing factor,I dont want him to shoot lasers out of his hands and I want him to still use his gadgets.

By the cover, seems that Damian would have at least a sort of super-resistance, like a body made by steel.

I think that the basic would be cool. Super strenght, durability and super speed. Then he could develop new powers in time.

Well it seems he has invulnerability. Perhaps he gets his powers from the chaos shard, and in that case I'd imagine it gives him the basic stuff like super strength, speed and durability. Maybe some energy powers too but there's really no telling. I'll just wait til December to see.

I remember in Grant Morrison's run that in the future, Damian makes a deal with the "Devil" and develops an impressive healing factor making him close to impossible to kill. Since Tomasi likes to pick up on morrison plot threads i hypothesize that Darkseid is the "Devil" Damian makes a deal with and the New God is responsible for Robin's new powers.

But I have to say I don't like the idea of Damian with super strength, durability and super speed. Any respectable street-leveller with cosmic level power is extremely overpowered in my opinion. Can you imagine characters like Batman or Shiva with Superman's powers. They would make a lot of cosmic heroes seem irrelevant

I wouldn't mind enhanced reaction time and other physical stats though to complement his martial arts skill and use of tech

Damian isn´t as skilled as Shiva or Batman. He will do just fine. I was thinking physical stats on the level of Aquaman.

@black_arrow: Very true, but he is still just a kid and he does have the potential to surpass martial artists like Batman or Shiva as he grows older and becomes more experienced. I'm not sure but isn't Aquaman like a 60 tonner? With that kind of superhuman ability he might forgo his training and skills over his new powers and I'm not sure if I'd like that direction. Personally for me I wouldn't mind Damian having spider-man level physical ability and have a healing factor; he's super strong but not enough for him to necessarily dismiss his skills and resourcefulness. I think those kinds of powers would be perfect for a setting like Gotham City.

But then again this is Tomasi. My concerns could be just nothing, and if Tomasi does take the route of a really superpowered Robin, he could still provide an exciting, action packed narrative, and adding something new and dynamic on the title. He's a pretty talented writer and he's consistently good with his issues, so who am I to doubt him haha ;)

I don't think he should fly or anything like that.

Healing factor would be awesome.

His increase in abilities should allow him to match Batman in physical force at least.

Flight, Intangiblity, imortality and omega beams...that should be enough, to put him at the top, as a street-leveler.

Now, seriously...he doesn't really need any powers...he's the most skilled Robin, that Batman ever had...he only lacks smarts in comparrisson to Tim Drake, and maybe Dick Grayson...and even that, is not by much...in comics, skill = powers, i mean, when a character is written as being crazy skilled, we know that he will eventually do crazy stuff, it's like his "super-power"...give a character like that, superpowers is making him overpowered, and sure, i agree with @batcat91 and @black_arrow Damian is no Batman or Lady Shiva, but he's more than enough skilled as being a Robin...giving him super-powers, is putting him in a level that he shouldn't really be.

Anyway, let's wait and see.
