Poll What makes your ideal Batsuit and why? (46 votes)
The Batsuit has often been portrayed inconsistently (not in a bad way), with the core parts/aspects changing as needed either due to plot, the style of the artist or some other reason.
For the purposes of this poll, I am defining the core parts of the Batsuit as:
- Cowl
- Ears
- Gloves
- Utility Belt
- Suit material
- Trunks
- Bat symbol
All of these have been depicted differently. The cowl has been depicted as a soft and flexible and able to be draped over something, and other times as a hard helmet. The ears vary in Length to the short Batfleck ears to the exaggerated Kelly Jones ears. The gloves tend to stay the same except if they have gauntlets or not. The utility belt has varied from black to grey to yellow to brown to gold, and from being pouches to weird tube canisters. The suit material has sometimes been a spandexxy material, sometimes been an advanced protective mesh and other times been straight up armor.
I think I've listed most of the main variations above, and would love to hear which parts people consider to be ideal and why.
For me personally:
- A soft cowl. A hard cowl makes more sense in many ways, but I just prefer the soft cowl.
- I like medium length ears. Long ears are too impractical, and if they are too short they may as well be absent
- Gloves should definitely have Gauntlets.
- Utility belt should have pouches, and ideally be a very muted yellowish grey. I love the yellow belt, but hate it whenever it is made bright. Kind of goes against the whole stealth thing.
- The ideal suit material for me is when it looks like tights, but is actually an advanced mesh. He retains his iconic look, has protection but not to the point it hampers flexibility.
- I love the trunks look, but can admit it is outdated. So no trunks for me, but ideally they can be replaced with something more modern looking that retains the color pattern.
- The Hush bat symbol is my favorite. The TDKR symbol is too big. While I like the idea of a yellow chest emblem to draw fire, I think it makes even more sense not to try and draw fire at all.
