Would Batman kill too?Would he leave criminals die too?

Batman wouldn't kill he goes by his own codes regardless of other laws.

He himself wouldnt kill them, but i think that if a criminal was arrested and give the death sentence, than batman would respect the law. As long as he is not directly killing them..(itd be stupid for him not to.)

Sort've interesting idea. What do you think would happen if Gotham ok'd bounties? Like if a criminal had already been sentenced to do death and that was his fate regardless of anything else would Batman go ahead and kill them? I always figured Batman didn't kill because he believe in the justice system and knew it wasn't his place to sentence judgement, but if judgement had already been sentenced.......

The city would be freed of most of its problems, and Batman could focus on cleaning up the city without distractions like Joker.

Gotham might have a death penalty.

Joker and most of Batman's enemies are insane.

Afterawhile that insane bit will have to get tired and they should just excute the muderous villians. Or lobotimize the crazies that worked on that alternate reality JL episode.

Original Poster, while "Death Penatlies" are existential in many states, with the power to legally judge the fate of whom they may deem chronically dangerous, "License to Kills" is a different matter; is fictional, and would definitely be illegal.

It is clear in the very essence of Batman's vigilanteism that Bruce believes morality extends beyond the law. Therefore, I do not believe that Batman would necessarily approve of the death penalty even if it were the law.

Furthermore, even if Bruce did approve of the death penalty (which is possible), he would not execute criminals himself for he only serves to bring criminals to justice. He does not work as judge, jury, and executioner.

Keep in mind that the death penalty is the most severe of consequences. Only the main villains like the Joker would receive this punishment. Many of the other villains would still commit the crimes that they usually commit, and probably receive the same punishment that they usually do.

the Joker is insane, he wouldn't get the death sentence regardless

It's kinda pushing the insanity excuse if you keep killing again and again and again, and escaping just as many times.

@Jonny_Anonymous: That's the greates trick the Joker ever pulled, making everyone else think he's insane so he can get away with all that he does.

Death penalties are dealt by states, not individual municipalities.

Having said that, that doesn't really change anything about how Batman operates or what happens to his villians.

Batman's baddies ending up in an asylum over and over isn't because there is or isn't a death penalty, it's because they're considered mentally incompetent or insane, and unsuitable to be jailed or punished as a sane person would.
