Last week it was announced that a new Batman short, by Bruce Timm, would be debuting to celebrate Batman's 75th Anniversary. The time for waiting is over. You can now check it out below!

I would love it if DC did something like this for Captain Marvel, probably not, but I can dream. It sure would be great if the Big Red Cheese could relive a bit of the glory days.

@captainmarvel4ever: There was nothing wrong with the old version. It was what Timm wanted. I like it when he has creative freedom. And the Timmverse continuity was one of the most expansive ever.

@captain13: Yeah but it's over, and CN needs a new DC show, that's actually good. So why not use the New 52 League, where unlike the original JL series, we go into depth about each characters mythos, and past. Plus with Dwayne McDuffie gone, it wouldn't be as fun to go back to the old continuity. Besides, he was the best writer on that show, so what's the fun of going back in if he's not around?

Or they could do the smart thing, like they did last time, and not base it on any one specific version, but just cherry pick the best, as far as team members, certain story arcs and their personalities, while using an almost entirely new continuity.

Absolutely loved it but now I miss the animated series more than ever. I'd love to see more even if it is only 5 minute blocks.

That was very nice. It's to bad the gatekeepers don't think there is room for someone of Bruce Timm's caliber to do some work like this more often.

@marionettegeist: Maybe they could do a little of both, have the New 52 League be the center of the series, but still playing around with other characters and stories. Although I'll take almost anything at this point.

I love bruce timm, but i didnt like this short. I liked the Superman tribute one from last year much better. Still would like to see more animated shorts.

Pretty cool. Not much substance, really, but it was great tone-wise. And seeing Timm-style animation was a welcome treat.

Reminds me that we're lacking a good DC cartoon at the moment. Hopefully we'll get something soon (and NOT on Cartoon Network). I'm still hoping for a Young Justice revival. It's the most cohesive DC Universe to date, in my opinion.

I would love it if the CW picked up Young Justice and kept it going from the same continuity. I don't know why major networks don't take animation seriously. After all, considering how the CW is doing, they may take a chance on an animated series, I doubt they're ratings could go any lower.

Can we just have a decent show like B:TAS on again? PLEASE?

That was awesome. Bruce Timm should make a Batman cartoon with this tone, more mature for adults, and either pitch it to HBO or put it on Adult Swim.

The quality of this video mostly just reminds me of the woeful state of western animation. Even the really good stuff (Young Justice, The Legend of Korra) looks like anime. The animation in this was of amazing quality and it doesn't look or feel like anything else out there. Come back to us, Bruce Timm. Come back to us.

OMG MY CHILDHOOD!

It's a period piece set in the 30's. Color would have ruined the atmosphere, which (being only 2 minutes long) is pretty much all it was created for.

@captainmarvel4ever: Unfortunately, I don't think Young Justice fits with the CW's typical demographic. Our best chance of seeing a Young Justice season 3 is mostly likely through Netflix if it performs well.

Definitely missed Young Justice a lot. I wish we'd gotten a bit more closure.

Eh, I thought it was alright. Still love Timm though, dudes a legend, was hoping he would do something similar to what he did with Superman last year.

It was 5/10 on the Timm scale. Still better than Beware the Batman or Teen Titans Go! though. Both Marvel and DC dropped the ball with their animated series. We lost Green Lantern, Young Justice, Mighty Avengers and Spectacular Spider-Man for Beware the Batman, Teen Titans Go!, Avengers Assemble and Ultimate Spider-Man? So 7.0,8.9,8.5 and 8.7 for 5.0,2.0,1.0 and 2.3? I think both studios are underestimating kids! My nephews 6 & 9 both prefer the older shows to the newer ones.

I made sure I watched this on Cartoon Network when it aired. I had no idea you'd post it here soon after. Anyway, there wasn't much voice acting. Hugo Strange had three or four lines, then the girl had one line at the end, then Batman says, "For now." That sounded like Conroy to me. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was. But it could have been a really good Conroy impersonator. Does anyone have any sort of confirmation that that was indeed Conroy, or information on who did the girl's line or Strange's voice?
