If the $50 million part is true then he'd be pretty stupid to not reprise the role,it's the same amount Downey got for Iron Man in Avengers,also from what I hear Jackman has been offered $100 million for 4 more Wolverine flicks.

Even though I'd also prefer a new person,Bale does have a Bruce Wayne feel to him and I haven't gotten anything like that from the other rumored actors.Not to mention whatever problems people had with Bale's Batman can be pinned down to Nolan's style & vision.

I love him as Batman but I'm not sure if I'd like to have Nolan universe and Man of Steel universe merge.

@theacidskull: Yeah, I agree, the popular rumours have mostly thrown up very poor choices. Some of the choices I have seen have just been selected because they have the physical stature or face of Batman, rather than acting ability. Then again, most of these rumours will be false, so we'll just have to see what comes up.

Someone else should take the role, not Bale, though it wouldn't be too bad, it would conflict with DC's new cinematic universe, though Christian was really good as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

I liked Bale a lot as Bruce Wayne and as Batman but I just want things to move on without him.He made an amazing trilogy along with Nolan and I want that universe to be left alone and for us fans to get a good reboot with new cast and new director.

I can not wait for these rumours and casting threads to be replaced by threads discussing how awesome or awful the casting choice is.

I'd like to see someone new but I wouldn't mind if they bring back Bale, he was awesome in the role and he's more experienced actor now.

I like this but I don't want him to hate being Batman like George Reeve did being Superman.

He shouldn't be in the new movie on the basis that it would confuse the audience. Nolans trilogy does not take place in this new DC Cinematic Universe. If the Batmen in these two different universes had the same actor people would think that this all takes place in the same world.

Update: I think the websites that originally posted this story might have been jumping to conclusions. I just bought the eBook and here’s the direct quote about the “$50 million offer”:

I understand bringing him back for this, but if they are already touting the big bucks what are they expected to pay when justice league hits? Will he be on board for that too? I don't see it happening.

If Hugh Jackman is actually going to get 100 million for four films an actor in an established superhero franchise with two billion dollar installments could easily command 150-175 million over 5 future films.

This would depend on the studios interest and Bales desire/willingness to return. He would find himself in a similar position as Robert Downey is with Iron Man in any team up movie Bale would be the biggest name from the most estsblished and successful solo franchise. In this scenario he would likely be viewed as the the draw to the general audience. The Dark Knight Rises did very well over seas and the Avengers made a majority of that films gross in the same markets. I use the Avengers as an example because that seems to be the benchmark of long term succes for the DC film universe which is fundamentally why the type offer being reported would be made in the first place.

I'd love for Bale to return, but just as happy if he doesn't and they go with someone younger (which would be ideal)

But if they're casting older, then Bale. He's the best.

I wouldn't mind having Bale back. With a different director, he could have more impressive feats and get rid of that voice. However, even if Bale comes back, I don't think he'd be willing to make another 3 Batman movies plus 2 or 3 Justice League movies. Then we'd have to find another actor. Might as well find a new one right now that can play Batman for a long time. Preferably a young actor who's looking for his big break. Hugh Jackman got famous through the X-Men, which is why he's been doing the role for so long. Same goes for Chris Hemsworth and Thor. Find that actor for Batman who has the willingness to play Batman for a long time because that's the role that got him big.

They should go for someone younger and a lot more buffer.

I was looking at Bale's filmography on Wiki and wow dude has a lot of work on his plate, 3 movies each for 2013 and 2014,that's 6 in total.It makes his chances slimmer.

I want him back if possible (because I though he just nailed the part), but at the same time I think it won't be the end of the world if he doesn't come back. Always fun to see a fresh take on Batman - there are just so many ways you can go.
