    Wait so there was a comic book where a man with a gun killed people in a theater that was playing a batman movie?Talk about being prophetic.

    Edit:Oh,It happened in the Dark knight returns,I guess it wasn't that obscure after all.

    But seriously,why would he re-enact such an obscure comic book scene where there were other things he could have re-enacted from comics.

    Because The Dark Knight Rises was coming out, so there were bound to be a lot people. The majority would be teens and families, so less chance of resistance. No security. People sitting down with only 2-3 exits, so it would be easy to shoot them when they try to leave. Plus, he targeted The Dark Knight for a reason, it would only make sense. Then again, it's most likely a coincidence.
