Is anyone else thoroughly enjoying with this book lately?

Gregg Hurwitz and David Finch are a really impressive creative duo in my opinion. They are are really conveying a great amount of emotion, especially in the last two issues.

Bringing Scarecrow's past to the surface and delving into some of Bruce Wayne's guilt for never getting too close to anyone. Just extremely well done.

Thoughts?

Too bad. The book hadn't been that good up until the last few months.

That's disappointing. But Hurwitz's art is equally as good I think.

I read the first two issues of Hurwitz run and liked what I saw. Unfortunately, I can only read so many comics at one time and Layman's Detective Comics has been the preferable choice imo.

I've only been buying the series for the art. I stopped reading early in the first arc, as the writing was terrible. I haven't gotten around to reading it since the new writer was brought in. I'd like to think this is the last time a company indulges an artist's vanity. Some guys are good writers. Some guys are good artist. A select few are both. David Finch is not. Maybe one day, but until then, he should spend his time at the drawing table, not the typewriter.

You won't be disappointed in this last Scarecrow arc. I totally thought the first issues sucked as well.

I've started reading the Scarecrow arc. Not bad, but nothing spectacular, though it has improved greatly since the beginning.

I reaaaaalllly dislike the new arc.

They messed up Scarecrow. Big time. The new origin is just...bluh. Boring. The old one (as shown in Batman/Scarecrow: Year One) was fantastic.

And the costumes....nooooooo thank you.

Did you like TDK up until the new arc?..

@Glitch_Spawn: No. I thought it was even worse....but I was less angry about it since Scarecrow was one of my favorite characters before the New 52. >:(

@Icarusflies: Fair enough. I myself never had a particular affinity for crazy Crane so I'm not in a position to feel ripped off.

I love all the new 52 batman comics. Love it.

The book isn't bad but it's still nothing special.

It looks amazing, but I thought the stories have all been mediocre at best. Overall, I think it is extremely disappointing.

I haven't read The Dark Knight since Hurwitz started, but I'm sure it's pretty good. I've read some of Hurwitz's novels, and while they are hardly literary masterpieces, they are good stories. I can see how he would be a great comic book writer, because his writing expertise fits perfectly into comics.

Seems I'm alone on this one. Oh well.
