Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
@comicdude23: i just think everything just easy for him and it ended so happy go lucky for him. Batman is suppose to be about tragity ya Terry's dad dies and he finds out Bruce is his actual father but i mean come on he gets to be Batman without doing anything to earn it and still gets to have a wife Bruce spent the last of his years bascialy alone the way a batman is suppose to go out

Nah, Terry had it hard. He was only 17 in the beginning so imagine that.
@comicdude23: ya he lost his dad but he still had his mom and brother a hot girl friend and he he not only got to be Batman with out doing anything for it but he got an awsome suit that does all the work for him. Both of Bruce's parents where murdered by some random thug right in frought of him at 8 and he grew up alone ya he grew up with money but he had to earn everything else on his own

Batman Beyond was by far the darkest DCAU show, and Terry was finding his own place in the world. I think he was a good successor to the cowl, he had a darkness to him that was prevalent in Bruce (something I feel Dick didn't have). Bruce, Damian and Terry all share it.
Though I don't prefer Dick to be Batman, I think he is the better one. Despite Terry being a "definitive" Batman, I've always viewed him as a Batman/Robin hybrid ergo = Batboy. He never had a Batman feel to him, for me.
@comicdude23: it might be dark i just dont find terry interesting as a character with Bruce i can examine his mind his villains gotham and even thou its not as dark TAS is just vastly more interesting
Terry. I know that it makes sense for Dick to take up the cowl, but Terry was a Batman for his time. He may not have had the training that Dick had, but he had the drive and took it very seriously. Dick just always seemed like, we'll, I have to, like it was this massive burden, aside from his two-face demons, he still had that air about him.
