I've made it pretty clear how much I enjoy Scott Snyder's BATMAN. A Night of the Owls is approaching its end and Snyder has been teasing on Twitter that big things are coming in this week's issue. Will the end of the arc give us the payout we've been looking forward to?

We asked Mr. Snyder himself why exactly we should not miss out on this issue. This is what he told us:

To all readers of Comic Vine, if there's one issue of BATMAN since we began at issue 1 to now that's going to be the one you don't wanna miss, it will be this one. I can't wait to see what you think. The big revelations, the big twists, the big reveals, the big finale, all of it starts here at issue 10.

Don't miss it and let us know what you think. Thanks again.

Has he let us down so far?

Check out the preview if you haven't already seen it over at

Sounds like you won't want to miss out on this week's BATMAN. Be sure to check here tomorrow for an explosive spoiler-filled interview with Scott. I say it just might blow your mind and you will definitely want to read issue #10 before.

has snyder ever given people a reason NOT to? haha im sorry snyder but people will still pick up your stories regardless if you advise them to. youve become the fan favorite of comics. and youll probably be DC's favorite in the future as well as soon as people get tired of geoff johns. well done snyder...i still think your overrated, but you are definitley a great writter.

I've been riding the Scott Snyder Bat train since his run on Detective. No way am I missing the end of this arc.

Are you looking for attention? How can you say in one breath, that this hasn't been a good story. Then in that exact same breath say that this one issue looks promising.

Everyone has their own opinion and that's fine but your contradicting statement has my head shaking.

I on the other hand can't wait to read this.

Snyder talked on the forums of CBR about this issue. I hope this is what it is hyped up to be... then again I feel like it is going to be spoiled all over the internet. Hopefully it isn't spoiled the day before so I can just avoid the internet until I read it on Wednesday.

You want me to say why you should pick up Batman 10?....... BECAUSE IS AWESOME duh

#11 Posted by kagato (247 posts) - - Show Bio

I love Snyder's run on Batman, its been fantastically paced and his ability to mess with Batman is only matched by his ability to have him push though and fight back. Ever since the first issue he has been dropping clues here and there that when you look back make perfect sense. I wonder what else he has in that dark imagination of his....

Scott Snyder Tells us Why You Should Pick up BATMAN#10

Well the first two words are why!

#13 Posted by HotSauceCommittee (345 posts) - - Show Bio

I HATE how he starts every single issue with a long winded, condescending monologue full of played out metaphors, even does it in American Vampire. Doesn't seem to be too bad this issue thankfully.

#14 Posted by kartron (420 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm sold!

#15 Posted by feargalr (1163 posts) - - Show Bio

I've been loving this story arc and can't wait for this issue. I would say it's the best Batman I've ever read. But I'm kinda happy it's ending. It's been a long arc, and I wouldn't want it to go on too long, plus the repercussions from this will be very interesting. Also I can't freaking wait to go back and reread the whole arc in one sitting :D

Awesome, I cannot wait to read it.

#17 Posted by spider-man 2996 (660 posts) - - Show Bio

#19 Posted by blacksuperman4eva (8 posts) - - Show Bio

This looks awesome already can't wait to read the issue tomorrow when I pick it up. Looks like vengeance Batman style that Court of Owls won't know what hit em.

I am getting the HELL out of this!!!!

#21 Posted by Manwhohaseverything (1910 posts) - - Show Bio

Well, I personally don't see how this could be cooler than issue #5. Nevertheless, Snyder rocks! And this will be great. I feel very comfortable saying that, and I probably won't even read this issue for another  2-3 weeks. (yep, I'm the guy that picks up comics once a month..sometimes even 5-6 weeks.)

Does anyone remember Derek Powers from Batman Beyond? Think there's a relation here?

#25 Posted by whitelantern64 (94 posts) - - Show Bio

This is pretty sick but I wonder what direction he's going to take the series after this arc? What villain will he use, either one of his own creation or a remaining of one of batman's classics?

#26 Posted by G-Man (34459 posts) - - Show Bio

@xelanihc: There'll be a (SPOILERLY) interview going up early tomorrow. That's the first question I asked. So you'll find out in about 24 hours. Other than lips are sealed!

Night of Owls, Snyder, Batman, and Capullo? It sells itself. This was just extra hot sauce ;)

#30 Posted by aztek_the_lost (28224 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm amused by the notion that there are still people out there who aren't sold on Scott Snyder's Batman and that they get Internet in their underground caves.

Waiting for trade for this arc.

Snyder is killing it with Swamp Thing and Batman. I'm glad he's getting more popular, the guy totally deserves it.

It's not contradictory, he doesn't think the story is great but acknowledges the potential of this issue with its promise of twists and reveals. Contradicting would be him saying "it hasn't been a great story but this issue will be amazing" the key word he used is promising, he never outright says that it will change his opinion on the story it still might not for all we know.

I myself am enjoying Snyders run though.

#42 Posted by TaylorKr (2 posts) - - Show Bio

@KainScion: are you freaking kidding me?? this has been one of the strongest stories out of the New 52

#43 Posted by KainScion (2973 posts) - - Show Bio

@TaylorKr: OH MY GOD!! cant i express my opinion without being asked why i said what i said? JESUS!

#44 Posted by MadeinBangladesh (6935 posts) - - Show Bio

Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow

#45 Posted by jaredbright (204 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm behind on that book, but it's really good from what I've read. Capullo can keep a schedule like nobody's business, too. Look at his old Spawn stuff and he drew a million lines a page. Pretty impressive style he's got going here.

#46 Posted by SlickyMike88 (224 posts) - - Show Bio

I just hope that The Court of owls just remain as faceless group to be honest, I don't want to see their facess to be honest .They just remain as what they are, a force to be wrecking with^^

Looks interesting to read. I wish I could read the series of batman and the talons but they don't have it in my bookstore.
