Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Tim Drake is arguably one of New 52's most poorly handled characters. He lost a lot of the developments that he had over the last decade. Sure he's the leader of the Teen Titans, but he's not as interesting as he used to be. You can blame Lobdell for his poor handling of the character (and the entire first N52 volume of Teen Titans for that matter). However, recent writings of the character have been better. And Snyder really didn't really write the character that much, but the instances Tim was featured in the Batman Etenal, he was pretty solid, though he was hurt by the fact that he had to share the spotlight with someone or even take a backseat, notably to Blue Bird. That's the thing that's hurting Tim. While pre-New 52, he had his own solo series, Robin, and Red Robin, and there were several Batman stories that featured him. In the New 52, he's always being featured with a team, either the Titans or the Batfamily, and so the focus wasn't shared on him particularly. He's actually the only Batfamily member who currently doesn't have his own series that focuses on him. Red Hood is featured heavily in RHATO, Robin is given a lot of love in B&R, and the rest have their own solo series.
