Wow. Batman reader better start saving your pennies for September. Batman's getting 4 different issues.
Solicits available here.
@v_scarlotte_rose: Thanks for the info. Btw does that mean there will be 7 Batman titles?

Do you mean these, plus the villain issues for Detective Comics, Dark Knight and Batman Robin?
Then yes, at least 7 villain issues for Batman titles
@akbogert: I know what you mean. I've got Infinity and Trinity War to deal with. Batman villain issues are really tempting but I don't think I can afford them all.
Hopefully they'll collect them in a TPB so I can catch up later.

Okay thanks again, I was actually confused because the solicit for Batman 23.4 says Tomasi is the writer. So he's probably writing two Batman titles in September.
@v_scarlotte_rose: I suppose the nice thing is that these days trades are somewhat taken for granted. Has anything from the last couple years not made it into a trade?
I don't care much for Bane or Penguin, but I may have to get the Riddler one.
After having bought every issue related to Death of the Family, I'm wary of trying to be completionist with another DC event anytime soon.
@akbogert: Yeah, that's true. It's just a shame that a lot of older stuff isn't collected. Like, I don't think it's possible to get the whole original Avengers series in TPBs, though with the Masterworks series releasing a book per year, it'll all be available in Hardback in about 27 years.(Hooray? o_O)
Riddler and Poison Ivy are top of my list so far from what I've seen. I wonder if there'll be a Scarecrow issue, it's looks like he's in the big group shot picture.
I wonder who Batwoman will get in her villain issue. It was said that the villains might not necessarily match the hero whose title they're in, so I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up with a Batman villain.
Turns out The Dark Knight is getting 4 villain issues too, 1 each for Ventriloquist, Mr. Freeze, Clayface and Jokers Daughter.
I'm starting to think all the Batman titles will get 4 villain issues.
Solicits available here.
I wish this meant him getting his face back. Getting real sick and tired of this faceless s###.
I think that issue takes place in Zero Year.
I don't think so. Zero Year is Snyder's story, and this issue is written by Andy Kubert. It will be a sort of prequel issue though, considering the solicit says: "Andy Kubert pens this early adventure showcasing the maniacal exploits of the Crown Prince of Gotham—the JOKER!"
Aaand, Detective Comics is getting 4 issues too. Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow and Man-Bat.
This is seriously too much DC.
Solicits available here.
Looking forward to this ALOT its really a great idea, and its not only for batman either, seems everyone is getting villain books in september. Ill probably read most of them.
Read in an interview that Hush will -not- get an appearance in any Bat book though, apparantly they have something big planned for him further down the road and wants to hold off the debut.
@bruxae: I was actually going over the interviews, and it kind of seems like not every title is getting a villain issue, and that it'll just be 52 villain issues added to whatever titles make most sense. Like, the four Batman titles getting sixteen villain issues between them would mean that twelve other titles won't get one at all. I don't know if that's exactly what's happening, but it seems like it.
It's a cool idea, but releasing so many Batman villain issues in the same month will be too expensive for many people, like me. :/
@v_scarlotte_rose: Oh that sucks a bit, would of been alot nicer if every book just got 1 each, something for everyone and less wallet-ache for batfans. :(
I just remember seeing Justice League Darkseid and Flash - Grodd, and a few like that so I thought everyone was getting one but maybe its just the big ones. Some of them should be cool anyway. :)
@bruxae: Yeah. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that's what this quote means:
"This isn’t a one for one replacement. We have fifty-two titles right now, and it’s not a villain to match every title. We went with the fifty-two villains that we felt were the strongest ones to really represent this story and the event. It was tough because there were a number of books that we would have loved to do a one for one with, but we would have missed out on so many key villains that I think people would have been very disappointed if they didn’t get to them."
It would have been good to see each title get one, as I was hoping for an Alice issue for Batwoman.
Yeah, I imagine a lot of them will be worth a look. Just have to decide which ones to go for.
@rustyroy: Somebody did say that it will. Two-Face definitely, Catwoman seems very likely. Ra's Al Ghul and Talia could maybe get an issue each?
He does have the best rogues gallery so it makes sense. Anyway I'll be broke by the end of September.
Extremely subjective
I prefer Flash's rogues
@v_scarlotte_rose: I doubt that DC will give each al Ghuls a separate issue but considering Talia has become one of Batman's most dangerous villains, I bet she's going be the one. I thought that Deadshot will be the 4th villain first but then I remembered he's in JLA. Maybe Wrath will be the fourth villain although I hope its Deathstroke.

Yup, but my comment, my opinion.
@rustyroy: True, tis is gen discussion... not battles
continue on
sad that they had to use the n52 version of victor for his series

What does this have to do with battles or gen discussion? I just stated my opinion. This is off topic anyway.
@god_spawn@deranged_midget Can any of you guys move this tread to Batman Board please?
@v_scarlotte_rose: On JH Williams twitter he said editorial told him he couldn't use Killer Croc. A villain he's apparently been building up in Batwoman. So he opted to not even do a Villain Month book.

I follow him, but I must have missed this.
Are you saying he's had to write Killer Croc out of upcoming issues?
Edited: O.K. I looked it up and it sounds like he had some cool plans for Croc. That's disappointing that he didn't get to go through with it. :/

That's bad, they could've used some other villain for Batman and let him use Croc for Batwoman, but what can I say, DC editorial knows what's best for us fans.
@rustyroy: Yeah, and it's not like Batman has a shortage of villains to choose from. I'm sure someone like Black Mask, Hugo Strange or Mad Hatter, etc could have been fine for a Batman issue.
@v_scarlotte_rose: Is this a real book? Cause if it is I'm gettin it.
@ultrastarkiller: Yep. All the covers I've put here are from comics coming out in September. :)
@v_scarlotte_rose: Damn I can't wait for this. I didn't even know this was going on is this the Villain Month thing?!?!?!?
@ultrastarkiller: Yeah this is Villain Month. There are 52 villain issues coming out, 16 of which are Batman ones, 4 for each of the 4 Batman titles(Batman, Dark Knight, Detective Comics, Batman & Robin).
Not every title is getting a villain issue, so several titles won't have an issue out in September.
@v_scarlotte_rose: O okay cool. I'm defiantly getting this then. Sorry but you don't happen to know if Lex Luthor is getting one do you?
@ultrastarkiller: Yeah, he's in Action Comics #23.3.
Other Superman villains getting issues are Bizarro, Brainiac, H'El, Parasite, Cyborg Superman, General Zod and Metallo.
@v_scarlotte_rose: Perfect Villain Month would be nothing without him.
@v_scarlotte_rose: My thoughts exactly. They could've used any other villain instead of Croc, and if they already had plans for him then they should have at least asked J. H. Williams about it. It seems like only Johns, Didio, Lemire and Snyder get to make plans for all these events but the other writers are ignored completely. Wasn't this the reason why Brubaker and Waid left DC? I'm very worried about how DC is treating their writers.
@v_scarlotte_rose: Perfect Villain Month would be nothing without him.
He's the main focus of the Villain's month according to Johns, he's likely to get a miniseries after this.
