Over the weekend, MTV had their annual movie awards. I've seen mention that there was a new TV spot for The Dark Knight Rises but what I'm seeing appears to be pretty much the same footage we've been seeing in all the other TV spots. What is new is the minute and a half footage shown during the awards. I'm not sure if MTV has officially released the clip but I did find this one over at The Hollywood Reporter. It's pretty heavy. Hopefully this is viewable in all countries.

Things are looking pretty bleak for Batman. You've gotta love that last shot between Batman and Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20.

I am really looking forward to this film. In my opinion you really can't compare this to Avengers any more than the protagonist in both films wearing costumes. Its like comparing the best beer you've ever had (Avengers) with an aged wine that you only bring out for special occasions (Batman Franchise). Neither is better and you can't really compare the two. And I am loving Hathaway as Catwoman, she has a classic movie femme fatale presence that I find super sexy.

@KainScion: Me neither, but I will reserve judgement until I've seen it. If it's all Bane and only Bats right at the climactic finale (which there will undoubtedly be, then that's a great shame in my book. A small thing for me is that he changed his costume in the second (and it differs quite radically) so why would he not enhance it further in this one?

Hello Batman!

Gosh! Anne Hathaway bores me to sleep.

I love it when ppl can clearly see how amazing this movie is going to be and the say things like *switches to hipster voice* "still not impressed" What would impress you? If Batman carried an AK--47 and fought crime by using the force while discovering he's an alien from an ancient planet of space vigilantes? Would that impress you?...if you liked the first two films then you will (more than likely) like this last one..if you didn't like the first two then clearly Nolan's bat-films are not for you. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but saying things like "not impressed" without any explanation as to why you're not impressed is you just being negative for the sake of being negative....the level of negativity on this website is astounding and it makes me want to run into the street and hug a semi.. That being said this movie is going to melt faces and I need it in my life.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Bane sounded incredibly weird in the trailer. Like he was speaking into a poorly tuned microphone. His voice had better be clear in the cinema otherwise I won't take him seriously. The bit with Catwoman and Batman made me chuckle. I'll reserve my full judgement until I see the film though as I still can't make up my mind about it.

Apparently, Bane doesn't have his Venom. He has the mask because it releases a gas that numbs the pain of an old injury.

Interestin' to see how that turns out.

I keep having friends tell me that this movie is not The Avengers, all I have to say is that I agree it's not at all ... It's the Dark [freakin] Knight!!

Really want this movie to be released faster

This franchise is a great entertainment but is light years to be the Batman we know in the comics and we want in a movie. All characters work great in the last movies, exept the superheroe, Batman. This Batman don't has soul and looks horrible.

as for the Avengers comparisons, Avengers is a nerdgasm, but these Batmovies are sleek beauty. I'm pretty sure when i walk out of DKR im still going to think Avengers was better, but just like with TDK (which i watched frequently for months) i think this one will always have a high and hardcore spot on the list of great films.

@Om4zd: better casting for some characters and a better batman. bale sucks.

Im not sure what to make of Tom Hardy's voice. It sounds ok but the accent sounds like n easy way to go into camp territory.

Im just waiting to see the same people who say it looks bad but in a month or so, they're going to be praising it. Anyway Cant wait to see this.

Good golly, I want to see this! Only a month and a half left! On a somewhat more somber note, I'm not looking forward to the inevitable overblown Bane fanboyism we'll undoubtedly see after this comes out.

@Om4zd: i havent seen the movie yet. this is just what i got from the trailers and pics. sure they could be awesome, idk. look at ledger when they first heard of the cast, nobody believed he would do good. but by god he is the greatest movie joker ever.

and one great thing about Christopher Nolan..is he NEVER puts the good stuff in his trailers. so as exciting as this trailer footage is, im still expecting way more! and i know i will not be dissapointed :)

they need to get a high res copy of this up. love the music that starts when bane is kneeling

I'm not trying to flame you, but I just don't get why people pick on the things you've picked on? After Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, haven't you accepted that these films are kind of 'stand alone'? Even when you talk about the Joker, you only mentioned Heath Ledger... did you not realize during that movie that Heath played a crazy guy with facepaint rather than some dude that fell into a vat of chemicals which he miraculously survives?

If Bane is too short and Catwoman not 'classy' enough or too young (which, compared to what? Have you not been reading the recent Catwoman series?)... I could easily make a long list of things you must have problems with from Begins & TDK! What Nolan has really done well in all these movies was capture what makes the characters interesting and who they are... so much to the point where everything else goes unnoticed.

1. Not Sexy: Can't really argue with this since it really subjective but I totally disagree. I will take a carefully measured looked and seductive voice over someone running around in a suit made of pleather (Phifer) or tatters (Berry) any day.

2. Not Classy: Now I really think you're trolling. This Catwoman looks to have more class than the other two combined.

3. Too Young Actress: I know you would have prefered Betty White, but I heard she's busy working on her television program.

Sometimes you just have to click on a person's profile and see the obvious fan-boy-dom for the other company to know what you're dealing with.

I saw this on the MTV Movie Awards it was awesome. The only thing I am worried about is Bane's voice. I hope it will not be muffled in the movie

This new footage gives me a bit more faith in Nolan's handling of Catwoman. I have a sneaky suspicion that she is going to surprise a lot of people (myself included).

I hope Catwoman will be good. That's really my only reservation, I just don't like that actress.

Nolan's villains have yet to disappoint me, but I'm still iffy about Bale's Batman. He’s great as Bruce Wayne and certainly looks the part of a millionaire playboy/superhero, but I can't take him serious as Batman when he talks with that ridiculous voice. He is suppose to sound intimidating, but I can't help but laugh at Batman's voice sometimes. Then we have Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I don't find her attractive at all, but I think she will play a decent Catwoman. With that said I will definitely rent this when it comes out on DVD.

@KainScion: truthfully, in anything DC related that ive seen you on, your statements are the opposite of excitement, so naturally people are going to accuse you of fanboy bias even if those are your actual opinions. You can have your opinions, but they have to make sense and be supported by at least a little something. As Black Hood pointed out: your second and third points just have no context. Frankly i dont know what youre looking for in a film if these clips or the other Nolan films dont impress you.

@KnightRise: its a movie not a battle. i can say whatever i like about any actor, cast or movie without having to make my case. as for my 2 and 3 point i like the classy and not so young catwoman (hatheway loooks dopey and not sexy). yes i have read catwoman of the new 52. and yes i dont like the ubber woe shes been turned into, flashing her boobs every pannel. in the past she didnt have to do that to be sexy.
