Geoff is the reason so many people think that Batman is a mean girl. It is also the only reason people seem to honestly believe that Ted Kord is smarter than Bruce. Ted had NO feats beyond countdown to back that up. All Geoff did was point out things that EVERY Blue and Gold fan had been saying for years. And most other people still felt that Ted was a clown. It just made Bruce more of a clown than Geoff had previously done.

I honestly think that DC has needed to prop up his Justice League title with some of the most shameless stunts over the past year and a half. The false lead on Trinity War that drummed up buys. The entire plot arc of Forever Evil. Lex picking Batman's pocket. The dramatic deduction that Batman was Bruce Wayne. Which puts Lex in the ranks of Tim Drake at 12 and Barbara Gordon at 13 (great characterization, makes Waid's Birthright seem weak smh)

When was Batman 31 postponed to the end of the month? Does anyone else think that it was to keep a glorified back story from outselling the denouement of an event he had been prepping for over a year? Or that for all the suspense that his conclusion seemed to have, there are two events centered around the Bat Family of Earth Prime and one heavily focused on the Bat Family of Earth 2? And the implication that the Lex Luthor deduction CANNOT have meaningful impact on the next few years of comics from DC? Which would be close to the next line wide reboot ( Infintie Crisis was 2006 and Flashpoint was 2011, giving us only three or more years before this whole experiment gets aborted)

Meanwhile, Hal Jordan got his ring stolen by Batman, he got knocked out by Superman, he got knocked out by Wonder Woman, he gets taunt constantly by Flash for trying to challenge Batman (a guy with no superpowers), losing out to Supes on Diana and being called a pest by Aquaman. Hell, only Cyborg has shown him any respect.

Superman is a faceless drone, he's been removed from two stories before they even got going (Origins, Trinity War), he aapearantly only dated Wonder Woman so Batman can take her from him, his arch-nemesis defeated the entire syndicate (Superman has beaten no one in JL), he's been knocked down by Aquaman and Wonder Woman...

How Hal Jordan and Superman wish they were the guy who leads the JL, the only guy who escaped the crime syndicate, the guy who SAVED THE ENTIRE JUSTICE LEAGUE from Firestorm.

Yeah, all fail to stump him in sales, heck combine all their sales and he probably still wins. Factor in that Bats can have great stories like The Dark Knight Returns, which involve Batman > Superman.

@redwingx: The problem is not that he would physically be able to win a Justice League mission. The problem is in three parts.

1. He is going into cosmic situations without anything but his standard suit. When he has shown to have much better tech that is ALWAYS left out of sight during he Johns run.

2. Batman was never included in the league for physical reasons in Pre 52. He was there due to his planning and deductive skills. He was not the guy beating the big bad, he was deducing what the bigger picture was. Something that the other members of the League rarely did in their own titles.

3. The League needed a human member, otherwise the group becomes much more imperialistic. And Batman is their biggest draw. Before Johns took over he was an ideal human. Super smart, compassionate, dutiful, and fully actualized physically. Now he is Earth One Batman. And I can go on about how Earth One Batman is JUST as unrealistic as Batgod. And Batgod was only from the Morrison run era. Classic JLA had him as the guy who figured out what the bad guys were planning and deduced the most efficient way to stop them. And the depiction of Batman in Justice League is not more realistic. It is JUST as unlikely to be a human response with his prior experience as his unflappable calmness.

P.S. Lex Luthor would be stomped by every powered member of the League in his power suit without prep. If Batman has the means to protect himself, he should use it. Iron Man would be out of his league in a Justice League fight.

In sales, story quality, critical receptionandoverall popularity in nearly every medium. It all comes down to envy with most "Bathaters" which is why they relish when he is written poorly or humiliated and their only consolation is that he can be "easily beaten" by those with superpowers. All that other junk (whether valid or not) about "PIS" and "fanwanking" is just tacked on to legitimize their jealousy.

I agree with this. It's the same reason Captain America fights amongst Gods. DC's most popular and profitable character is Batman. The guy who makes the company the most money will most likely win most of his battles. This is just common sense

DC amuses me, they use other heroes to prop up Batman then they wonder why other heroes don't sell as well as Batman. Notice how Captain America went from a 370 million dollar movie to a 700+ million dollar franchise? Do you know why? It's because Iron Man didn't make them look useless.
