Many people have said that either damian or drake were most likely to die but in my opinion it's Barbara Gordon here...
Batman
Character » Batman appears in 23647 issues.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
My Death of the family candidate
What about Alfred? He would be the easiest to kill off, I'm pretty sure something will happen to him.
It's been pointed out that Drake is the most expendable. But the superheroes are probably safe. DC loves how well its bat books are selling. More likely than not, it'll be Alfred or no one.
IMO, they can kill Gordon, Joker, Harley, Oswald , Pamela, that guy that thinks he's the Mad Hatter....hell, they can even kill Selina and I wouldn't care
Just don't kill Bruce, Drake, Dick, Damian or Alfred.
Won't be Barbara, Dick, Tim, or Jason. They're all in their own books and are presented in future solicits (and by that extension, James Gordon is on the cover to Batgirl #19, so not him either). Alfred and Damian are the only ones in any real danger, and of course Joker himself might "die".
No one will die in my opinion.
I think it will be more of the death on the "Bat Family" idea. I do not think it will be because someone kills the Joker, but the fact that Batman will not let them kill the Joker.
@Ravager4: You know, while I think most people suggesting Damian are doing so because of disliking him rather than because he makes sense, there is a certain kind of logic to it in that a new person could become Robin, so killing him wouldn't necessarily end the Batman & Robin run. Particularly since we know Harper Row is going to be important in Snyder's Gotham. I don't necessarily expect that (@redhoodnet may quite possibly be right, since it's death of the family, not in the family), but it certainly fits both a narrative and a corporate sensibility.
They can only kill characters who are not needed in the comic books and the likely candidate is Damian who can easily be replaced by Tim in the Batman and Robin title.
Everyone dies except for Batman, Nightwing, and Alfred. Batman and Nightwing can be all estranged and stuff and Alfred can be trying to bring them back together. Because that's the way its supposed to be. It won't happen, but I can dream.
I don't understand why people think that the Joker could kill Damian and Batman would just get over it and make Harper Row the new Robin. We saw what happened when Jason died so if the Joker kills Damian than Batman has every right to kill the joker and if he doesn't then it would be a insult to the fans. it would be like saying that Batman values Jokers life or his promise not to kill more than the life of his own child. No one is going to die in this arc but it has been a great story none the less.

Batman likes the Joker more than anyone.
Sad but true.
I feel that the title of the arc alone "death OF THE Family" signifies that the 'family' as we know it will be destroyed, not a single person. Bruce will come to the realization after having Alfred kidnapped, Barbara paralyzed, Damian captured, and Jason killed that he can't in good conscience continue to allow teenagers and young adults to risk death for his cause, and will put an end to the 'family' as we know it.
@Thatonekid131: He'd try, anyway, but I'm pretty sure they'd ignore him and continue to operate. Eventually he'd come back around. Besides, Harper's already ignoring his order to stop doing what she's doing, right?
Anyway, as I've said before, I don't think Joker or Alfred can die this early in the New 52 continuum. They're both too important to the overall makeup of Batman mythos.
Jokers face is decaying and if he lives he will not have a face and he could be getting sick so i think this is kinda his end game so IMO i think this is the end for the Joker on way or another I think the joker will die probably by one of the family members hands but either way he will be back in time.

I'm surprised he hasn't died of an infection.
I have a prediction but its based on seeing some of the Feb covers. I don't know how much of my prediction is correct but it is based on that so I know some of it is. I put a spoiler block on it for that reason.
**SPOILER ALERT** DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT READ THE DEATH OF THE FAMILY TIE-INS
its got to be Alfred! hes MIA at the moment and we know the Joker tortured him. and at the end of all the ties in the Joker has a bloody serving platter with a lid on it. I think its going to be Alfred's severed head.

I hope it isn't Alfred's face/head simply because that would be far too predictable. I feel like too much tension has been built around this serving tray to have it be such a cliche.
@Imagine_Man15: I couldnt agree more! all of the new 52 Batman crossovers have been really cliche. Its about time they try to stop pandering for extra sales and just right a good comicbook.
The only thing that makes me think that it is not Alfreds head or face under the cover of the tray is that when the Joker showed it to Two-Face and the Riddler the acted Shocked like they couldnt believe what they were seeing and if it was Alfred i dont think they would have that reaction bc what do yhey care if the joker kills Bruce Waynes butler, so its something worse like Harley or someone they care about or part of the Rogue Gallery. IMO
And this is precisely why I dont care for the current Batman line,it's all come down to death's and gimmicks.
Why does the death have to be a person?
It's called "Death of the Family". We saw in the early parts of the story how Batman's desire to shelter his friends/family has led to a sense of distrust in the group. The story is about the death of them as a group. A dissolution.

Man-Bat
I don't know why but this cracked me up. I just imagined joker laughing maniacally as he kills man-bat in front of the family, and everyone is just like, "man...who?"
Seriously though, if Snyder kills anyone, I quite.

Alfred is dispensable since he can be replaced by aunt harriet or uncle phil.
Replace Alfred with Uncle Phil?
O.K! :D
Edited: It's a gif, but won't move for some reason.
It's Death of the family
Something is going to happen that is going to shake up everyone and leave them all estranged at the end.
Joker said Bruce was hiding a secret so I am guessing it is something that will rock everyone to their core.
A bit like the Tower of Babel storyline where Bruce had screwed with the whole JLA and ended up resigning.
I really liked The Black Mirror and Gates of Gotham, but I have a bad feeling Snyder could be a one hit wonder with the media pumping him up too much.
I don't believe Alfred is dead altho Joker probably has removed all of the skin of Alfred and is serving Alfred skin salad. Batman will probably just hire 50 plastic surgeons to put back the skin of Alfred. As for Damian, Damian is surely doomed in Batman Inc. As for the knowledge of Joker about the secrets of Batman, maybe Ras Al Ghul is feeding Joker some info so Joker does not know all of Batman's secrets. As for the secret shared between Joker and Batman, it is probably the usual Joker knows Batman refused to kill the Joker many times which allowed Joker to do mayhem like cripple Barbara Gordon, etc.
