most hated batman moments and why

#1 Edited by kev17 (332 posts) - - Show Bio

its all in the title. List those batman moments you despise for whatever reason.

For me, lovers and madmen (the entire story, that poorly written psychologists dreck) takes the hate cake for me.
yourselves, fellow batfans?

The entire piece of shit book that was "Joker". I didn't necessarily have a problem with any of the things he had Joker do (other than cry of course) but it was just the way he wrote Joker that was bad. All of the stuff he did in that book he did just for money or territory. It was soooooooo awful.

Anything Kevin Smith has written about him because anything Batman did was either out of character or stupid for the sake of moving the (poorly written) plot forward.

Stephanie Brown still claiming War Games wasn't her fault, but Batman's

Wow condsidering that those where in my view two very good but diffrent takes on Batman ect. They were great. I could see how you may not like them. but i looked at them the same way I looked at all star Batman.
standing on there own there great works.

The wrost thing was the whole Lesile thmpson letting Stephie die thing. it was bad enough they writiers did it but then to have them lose there balls and change it was just shoe eating idiotic.

The fact that they killed Jason Todd based on a poll. What was it, a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book? If Batman comics were supposed to be based on what the fans wanted to see, every issue would be 20+ pages of Batman having sex with every woman in Gotham.

I think the whole year after NML in the main title was pretty desperate.  I love McDaniel's pencils but the writing was for nothing.

This, and the fact that Batman was replaced by Dick. All I read is The Dark Knight because of the reasons mentioned.

I dont hate the choice of dick as the heir of the batmantle. i just don't like dick as batman.
#22 Posted by joshmightbe (24876 posts) - - Show Bio

I didn't like when Dick became Batman mostly because when he was Nightwing he was his own man and becoming Batman kinda just threw him back in Bruce's shadow

#23 Posted by DH69 (4258 posts) - - Show Bio

that time he allowed himself to be portrayed by george clooney.

my reason why? BATMAN CREDIT CARDS AND BATSUIT NIPPLES!!!!

I forgot what It was called, but Wonder Woman had to protect somebody who was a killer, and Batman went after her. He got down on his knees and begged Wonder Woman to break her vow (or somethibg...?)

I actually cringed when seeing that.

The Riddler forgetting Batman's secret identity because he had amnesia or something after the whole Hush ordeal.  Also Bats getting punched in da face by Hal Jordan. That was just dumb and unreal.

WONDER WOMAN: THE HIKETEIA. Or however the hell it's spelt. Just an absolute insult to Batman and, I have a feeling, Greg Rucka's way of fulfilling some kind of weird bondage fetish.

Batman and Robin the movie, that was a joke

The one part in Under the Hood where Bats decides to save Joker instead of letting Jason having his revenge.  Don't get me wrong though, it's still by far my favorite story arc of all time.

i hate it when leslie thompson killed stephanie brown to as a warning message to Batman in terms of getting sidekicks. that was just plain crap. i can't believe it when she killed her.

when the writers brought back stephanie i was glad and frustrated. glad because they corrected their mistake, frustrated because they killed her (for a stupid reason) in the first place.

Morrison bringing Jason back with the pre-crisis red hair kinda bugs me out.

I'd have to say Kevin Smith's Batman as well, even though some people like it. All Star Batman is obvious as well. Wasn't a fan of the whole Batman/Wonder Woman thing in the 90s JLA books either, though the books themselves were decent for the most part.

I liked Azarello's Joker though. It's not THE Joker, but it's a decent book in it's own right.

As for Lovers and Madmen, I didn't hate it but like most of the Batman Confidential stuff, it's pretty unnecessary.
