I'm reading some, and it's crap. Being a true Batman fan, I loved Miller's DKR version and Loeb's version but this sucks. Snyder is the best now.
Batman
Character » Batman appears in 23648 issues.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Morrison's work is crap
SHUUUUUUN!!! SHUN THE NONBELIEVER! SHUUUUUNN!!!
Morrison is great, and I refuse to hear anything to the contrary. >_>
.............are you serious?..............are you actually comparing Miller to Morrison? This will not stand.
I'm kinda with you. His work is awesome and insulting at the same time. He has a unique take on just about everything. But, if continuity or characterization collides with what he sees for his characters then he ignores it. His X-Men was a great read, but his characters were all off. I think his Jean was the worst in history but the stories were great so we kinda overlook it.
I wouldn't go so far to say crap, and I definitely wouldn't lump all his work together. That said, I do not like his superhero work--never have, probably never will.
Nice work on backing that opinion up.
Hey, I have a fun idea!

dude, morrisons work on batman is way better than that crap miller puts out. DKR is overrated, DKSA was crap, and dont even get me started on all-star batman and robin, the only good batman thing hes done is Year One . Morrisons work is actually really good im loving batman inc and his run on batman and robin was awesome.
Morrison has some good runs but can also become convoluted and near impossible to follow. I liked the Batman and Robin run, and Batman Inc. has been good so far (though I hate the whole concept). Other things, like Final Crisis, were just god awful. One indisputable story of wonder is All Star Superman, however. So basically it is just hit or miss for me.

DKR is just one story, lets not forget about DKSA and All-Star Batman. Also Loeb...HAHAHAHAHA
@Eternal19: I think Morrison doesn't like the Batman thats why he can't get into character! He had some good stories(B&R,Arkham Asylum) but also had terribly bad ones (Batman RIP which is completely out of character).Plus he can't get the cast,he made Jason todd like a serial killer.Ok TDR is overrated but it was a game changer. It's like saying that the beatles are overrated.
Welp.

Ok. I don't like his work because he makes Batman look like a god, he adds silly storylines like time travel and his emphasis on the bat-family, just meh. I don't like it.

Why not? I'll take time travel over punching Scarecrow's face for the trillionth time and he was'nt godly when the Black Glove owned him, most people enjoy the Batfamily. The one's who dont are just some poozers still stuck in late 80's.
I can completely see what you're saying, I mean with such stellar threads as; "Do you think I should become a Bounty Hunter?" and the superbly self-aware "Is anyone here black?", you are quite clearly the go-to guy for intelligent storytelling. I would certainly take your word over the extremely well thought out and intricately detailed plotting of Grant Morrison. I mean, the way he's seamlessly brought the entire canon of Batman back to relevancy, as well as continually carving out new territory is just infuriating. Who wants to think that much? Doctor Hurt's constant machinations wore me down, I just wanted to see Killer Croc punch something. That's why I read comic books, because I like to watch people in silly costumes get punched. How dare Morrison push the medium into the realms of high-imagination that it is capable of? Damian was so annoying, like, I hated how he started out as a brat and then gradually grew as a character. I just wanted him to stay the same forever, or have Bruce force him to eat rats, like in All-Star Batman and Robin, written by Frank Miller who really understands Batman. And the level of ingenuity shown to connect absurd concepts like Zur-Enn-Ahh to the night of Bruce's parents death, thus explaining its indelible mark on his subconscious? That was so silly. Clearly Zur-Enn-Ahh should have just been taken out of canon and Batman from the Silver Age brought back like Flash: Rebirth.
And then you have things like the Black Glove and how they tore Bruce down, and only his incomparable paranoia saved his life. That same aspect of his personality that was responsible for Brother Eye and his expulsion from the Justice League. The way that Morrison was also able to add multiple layers to his Batman epic, with Batman undertaking something of a Messianic Trial and Journey, that was just frustrating. I hate layers. I like stories where everything is laid out perfectly for me and I don't have to think. Have you read Loeb's Hulk? Amazing stuff. I think it'd be right up your alley. I know I found it a huge relief to not have to worry about symbolism or multiple plot threads.
Morrison's Batman really did suck, I hate how he kept challenging the reader's preconceived notions of what a Batman story could be like. And then the way Snyder just took all of Morrison's ideas, simplified them and jammed them together? Now that is a masterwork of storytelling.
Thank you so much for opening my eyes with your thread, without your in-depth and superb analysis, I could have gone on as one of the idiotic masses who actually enjoys intelligence and creativity in their comic books. You saved me from that with your eloquent deconstruction, thank you.
AvX, and Justice League by Johns are awesome!

Batman is'nt a loner,a loner does'nt have such a large cast of supporting characters most of whom have starred in their own ongoings.
Time Travel is actually one of the coolest concepts around.
Care to elaborate? or are you just goading us in to a pointless debate?

- I prefer him as a loner. It's his war on crime, there is no point for a brooding, dark crime fighter to be pairing up with a 13 year old boy dressing up in green and yellow. It's silly. It's his war on crime, he shouldn't be letting others join in with him IMO.
- Not for a Batman story. Maybe for Superman but I can't take him seriously if he's time travelling.
- It's just silly, it's not really a gritty story.
This is just my opinion. I have to state the truth that everyone else is afraid to say. Morrison should stay away from Batman.

Yes. Batman is a human and not invincible.
