Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Gonna have to go with Morrison's batman and robin. I dislike dick as batman but his relationship with Damian and Tim was very well done and they did awesome stuff together. Batman inc was more dynamic and still awesome but batman and robin takes it IMO.
Tomasi's series would compare in quality, because now it is the relationship between Bruce and damian that is well written. In terms of the content it's a little different because Bruce and dick are two very different Batman's and work with Damian differently.
Batman Inc vol. 2 is readable without Vol. 1 if you know what batman inc is and Talia's relationship with batman and Damian at this point. If you don't you could probably easily figure it out so I wouldn't call vol. 1 absolutely necessary
Both, I like Batman and Robin because of Dick/Damian relationship (the only Batman/Robin partnership I like maybe except Bruce/Damian) and I like Batman Inc. because of Bruce.
