Looking for some Batman recs

#1 Posted by UncleEmu (179 posts) - - Show Bio

I just finished the story arc that kind of ends with Batman R.I.P. and I was a little disappointed. It was cool, but didn't feel like a classic.

I'm kind of looking for something along the lines of The Long Halloween or Batman and Son - but really, I want a Batman equivalent of All Star Superman

Also, I haven't read any Justice League, so some JL's with Batman would be great

any suggestions where to start reading Justice League? im a newcomer to Justice League. Is there an issue to start with like Batmans Year One kind of thing here? thanks!

@UncleEmu: Earlier this year, we made a community-wide list of the 100 best Batman stories, courtesy of

Take a look: Comic Vine's Top 100 Batman Universe Stories

As for JL with Batman...best bet is 'Tower of Babel'.

@FatihBATMAN: Have you read the first arc of the new 52?

There's plenty: Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, Killing Joke, Dark Victory (Long Halloween sequel), Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader, etc. Batman has one of the largest libraries in comic book history.

Well I have a huge list but I'm feeling lazy right now, so I'm going to recommend three starting points:

  1. You can start with JLA: Year One, then you should read JLA: Incarnations.
  2. You can also start with JLA: A Midsummer's Nightmare and then move into JLA Deluxe Edition Vol. 1
  3. Finally, you can also start with Justice League: Origin, the New 52 Justice League.
