Is there a link between Nolan's Bat Films and New 52?

    Think about it:

2005 saw the release of Batman Begins and the subsequent release of the dark themed Identity Crisis

2008 saw the Dark Knight in which was the year many titles went through a "grim and gritty" tone especially the Batman books despite Dick Grayson's being present

2011-2012 saw the start of the New 52 and the Dark Knight Rises...

I need o know: does Nolan Bat Trilogy's "it's realistic" and "dark and gritty" tone contribute to the rise of the New 52 DCU?

Nope. Batman has been gritty since Frank Miller came out with the Dark Knight Returns.

@nybreezy: Well if the Nolan Bat Film's theme of "realism/grittiness" and popularity of sai themes aren't what happened in New 52 then what do you believe did happen behind the scenes at DC Comics leading to such a reboot?

The Nolan films contributed to Batman in a lot of ways (Lucious, the Cape, Arkham games which took from all Batman media, etc...) but the tone of comics is not one of them.

@jphulk26: that's debatable, personally I like both, but I can see where you gathered that opinion
