So, I think it's a safe bet that (if they do fight) Batman is going to kick Superman's ass in this movie. I know a lot of people, especially on here, will cry if that happens and scream PIS, but seriously, WB knows it's what the majority of people (including myself) will want to see happen and will most likely give it to them. Either that, or it will be some sort of draw, which would still involve Batman being able to go toe to toe with Supes.

I'd like to know what people's thoughts are on how they could make this happen in the movie, especially because there is no kryptonite for him to exploit. I have a few ideas:

I think Bruce (or even Bruce and Lex together) will study and determine weaknesses regarding Kryptonian biology and either:

1. Bruce finds a way to create a place with an artificial Kryptonian atmosphere, since the Kryptonian atmosphere weakens Clark in the first film

2. Do a Red Lamp job, like in the book Red Son, after finding out Clark draws his strength from Earth's young yellow sun

3. Bruce creates Kryptonite (it doesn't have to be rock from the planet Krypton it could just be a substance he develops himself maybe containing the same contents of the Kryptonian atmosphere)

[4. ... Because he's Batman]

What do you guys think, anyone have any interesting ways that they will be able to have Batman face off with Superman?

What makes you think they will fight? And if they do, what makes you think Batman will beat Superman. Enough of this Superman vs Batman BS.

Option 5. The fight will end in an inconclusive tie and then the plot cuts to the actual villain, which according to the rumor mill will be Lex Luthor and Metallo.

If they really had the balls for what would realistically happen when a human fought a god then batman gets obliterated. In fact if it weren't for fanboy ism Superman would always win.

@sandman_: I did put "if they fight" in the post, but still considering the quote from DKR Zack Snyder used to tease the film, the fact Zack Snyder said "it's more than mythological to have these two superheroes face off" and David Goyer said he doesn't know if it will be called "Superman vs Batman or Batman vs Superman or something else", I think it's a fair bet to say they will fight. And I'm not saying Batman would beat him in a fight, I think if they fight in a film that's what would happen because the majority of people would want him to win and they know that.

The general viewing audience may be retarded but they'll be smart enough to know that power armor is not a concept unique to Iron Man.

Heck Iron Man didn't even start the concept...that was Starship Troopers.

@thebhramabull: I heard it will be based on Public Enemies. They aren't going to fight and if they do, I really doubt that after going through all this trouble to resurrect Superman they will make him lose. It ain't happening.

@sandman_: Have you got a link to where you saw that, I haven't seen anything on that. And he might not lose (but seriously he could easily lose as Batman is their cash cow right now and they know audiences would love it), but if he doesn't it would probably be a draw, which would still involve Bruce being able to fight Clark in this film. As for how they'll get all this wonderful tech.

Someone has to take the contracts for all that Kryptonian gear, may as well be Lexcorp and Wayne industries.

Wayne uses it to fashion superior gadgets, vehicles, and armor, but Lex, having taken the lion's share, reverse engineers it to construct not only his suit of power armor but also a powerful new robot that has some of the world engine's systems to function in place of kryptonite.

Effectively, not only does Metallo have the physicality to match superman blow for blow, it can create the world engine's effects around it to weaken superman and greatly increase the threat it provides. And also for maybe a humorous moment or two when it activates the gravity field and atmosphere poisoner at the wrong time and crashes through several floors.

Lex on the other hand, makes his standard suit with a less garish colour scheme, with his own improvements, namely shielding to enhance it's durability, energy weapons based on the Kryptonian transport's weapons and blasters, and of course the hard light helmet so that he can mug off to superman while still having his head protected.

Lex plays on the military's fear of Superman which Bruce initially tries to investigate, which leads to a bit of a scuffle that goes nowhere before they realize that this is just a misunderstanding and that Lex is playing them for fools. It turns out Luthor is planning to mass produce the Metallo robot for his own ends, they come to an agreement to stop them.

Only together are they able to defeat Metallo, only for Luthor himself to come onto the scene to prove that he's the superior being and roughs both of them up until they can defeat him and get him in jail. But it ends noting that Luthor can get himself acquitted in no time with the lawyers he can hire, thus setting the stage for the other five movies whomever Luthor is played by will be signed up for.

There's my prediction anyway.

If they do fight, the key to Batman's strategy must be misdirection. He is outmatched physically in every way. So he needs to be creative with how he approaches the battle. Take charge and make sure that Superman does what he wants him to.

I want either a Dark Knight Returns battle suit, or a kryptonite that only weakens his powers a little, and doesn't eliminate his powers completely. I don't want batman to just kick Superman ass, I want it to be a good fight.

I think that they'll fight just like they did in the dark knight returns. Power suit!

I really liked the Idea of Batman using a suit inspired by the all the Kryptonian tech that's now on Earth. Also Zod robbed Superman of his powers by exposing Superman to Kryptons atmosphere, Batman could simulate that by changing the chemicals in the air of whatever location he lures Superman to. A giant missle was what knocked out Faora in MOS, therefore conventional weapons are not out of the question. He can also take advantage of Supermans senses, as shown in MOS his superior senses are a huge problem for him, Batman could use all kinds of crap like flashbangs to really hurt Supermans superior hearing and vision. There is also good old fashioned Kryptonite.

A power suit seems plausible, Batman has used many types of armors in comics and the armor used by Faora and Zod was able to hurt Superman, Bruce can reverse engineer one of those suits and built a more advanced version of the armor for himself but I hardly doubt Affleck's Batman will have that kind of intelligence.

Love this idea. It seems a lot more creative than just using a power suit and would be a great way to showcase Bruce's intelligence, quick thinking, and reflexes.

I imagine that, if this film is in fact to be called Batman vs. Superman, the pair will not just fight once. Perhaps their first confrontation will be short, Superman clearly overpowers Batman and Bruce spends the battle gauging Clark's powers and learning how he might retaliate later. Then Bruce retreats quickly. The second confrontation might be a more fair battle in which Bruce makes use of tech to throw off Superman's senses. And then perhaps the third fight will be the true brawl where Batman has a power suit to go toe-to-toe with Superman.

It's either going to be very representative of World's Finest in the animated series or for those craving an actual fight, I could see it going down very similarly to Smallville Season 11 #16. Batman studies Clark from his previous fights and finds a weakness. Seemingly has an upper hand at the start, Clark then toys with him until he's had enough.

We all know that Batman is going to beat Superman in the movie. And only because Batman is the more popular character these days and they don't want to piss off shit loads of people. Batman could not create the kryptonian atmosphere without a sample, which might be impossible to get. Red sun and kryptonite are pretty much the only ways. In Lex Luthor Man Of Steel (issue 3), Batman with kryptonite and prep time was easily defeated by Superman. So I'd say that a red sun would be the only way...
