I'm feeling like I need to read a new Batman story. And I haven't read much! So, what should I get next?

This is what I've read so far:

    Year One

    The Killing Joke

    Long Halloween

    Arkham Asylum

    The Dark Knight Returns

And the very cool JLA story involving Batman, martians, and a matchstick.

    So, what shall it be?

Either Hush or The Black Mirror. Or first read A Death in the Family first, then one of those two.

Along with Hush, I'd suggest Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Venom, The Man Who Laughs, and Morrison's Batman & Robin TPBs.

Or Hush like previously suggested but only read that for the much better Heart of Hush the sequel.

I think you should nab the current Snyder Batman trades, The Court of Owls and Death of the Family. Then The Black Mirror, Batman and the Monster Men, Batman: Gothic. Grant Morrison's Batman run was excellent too, and that starts with Batman and Son, and they came out with a new trade combining that and the second Morrison storyline too, but tons of people are divided over Morrison's run.

Dark Victory is the sequel to Long Hallowe'en, by the same creative team. :)

I always thought "Joker's Asylum" was very underrated

Birth of the Demon while a great story, is worth it for the art alone.

You should get into some of the new 52 stuff. The Court of Owls storyline was nothing short of amazing in my opinion, and Death of the Family was pretty decent as well. Aside from the great writing, I felt like the art style did an exceptional job at capturing how dark Batman's world really is.

Based on what you've read, I feel like Hush would be a good thing to read next. Or Dark Victory if you enjoyed Long Halloween.
