1. Batman already has the greatest animated portrayals in TAS/JL/JLU
2. Batman has a trilogy which ALL 3 films are critically acclaimed (general consensus confirms this as a fact if you check reviews, etc)
3. Batman has video games which are all hailed as the best in the industry, e.g. the Arkham games
4. Batman punking Superman in a live action event will cement the completion of the cycle

HOW popular will Batman become if this happens?

Well, while I am a Supes fan more than a bat-fan (by a mile). I actually agree that Bruce has the better portrayals in most mediums but the premise of this thread is wrong at its very core.

I agree too many people whine and moan about him. Perhaps you could have worded the title better since it just seems silly and intended to flame.

I'm not sure how much more popular he can get, his popularity certainly won't skyrocket, it's already near a peak in my opinion. Whether he wins or loses he is going to look better than Superman anyway, a human managing to last in a fight with Superman, while probably also managing to land some quality blows is going to look mighty impressive.

It is at exceptionally high levels, but the fact here is that people will watch this film anyway. Though, I guess either way he will look impressive if he manages to go toe to toe, but if he wins, people will be taken back by the fact that he's beat the same guy who was fighting Zod across an entire city.

As long as people can go "Oh well if he didn't have krypotonite..." or "If Superman wasn't holding back..." then it should be okay.

Maybe to sophomores whose brain is flooded with testosterone and pride that cause them to attach egos to things. Batman being popular now is good, doesn't undo Superman's legacy or vice versa. The only "problems" or "cementing" comes from fans who take things way to cereal.

And Beside, it's going to be like any other comic crossover, they fight for a bit, some baloney happens, then they put the junk measuring tape away and save the day.

He already is the greatest lol but seriously i doubt they will fight once in the movie. The first fight Superman will beat batman badly (probably break a couple of bones) and in the second fight Batman will have a plan and beat Superman to prove to Supes that he is not invincible
