How did Riddler discover the lazarus pit and cured himself?the pits were on the verge of extinction with Bane blowing them up left ,right and centre, and Bane was actually tracking them down throughout the globe.Edward just found a pit in his garden and he meets Tommy(who hates Bruce) and decides to ruin Batman. The starting of this arc was shockingly bad,Batman was so badly injured after a fall that he had to call some long lost friend of his?not buying it,he has survived similar experiences with minor to no injuries(KG beast,Deadshot) and others much worse without having to call some outside help.Poison Ivy's involvement still does'nt make sense, what did she gain outta it?another pointless Clayface was created to act as a plot device and a cover up(because the other 7 versions clearly lacked something).Harvey gets his face stiched off panel and then decides to become a good guy,Joker and Ra's were only there to get their asses kicked(in other words they were mary suing Hush).Batman also apprehended Riddler halfway through the story and never even bothered to interrogate him,Hush was'nt even a character,he was just a fancy outfit.Loeb orignally wanted Jason Todd to be Hush, then switched his mind and gave us Elliot and then realizing that no one cares about that guy he gave us Riddler.Jason/Clayface and Harvey wore the Hush outfit before Tommy did, hell when Clayface/Jason wore it he had the R insignia but that same costume was worn by Hush it had the H insignia(facepalm).Batman kidnaps Talia and Ra's for some goddamn reason is pissed about it,Lady Shiva was oneshotted.Hush is perfect for a video game,it has the typical Jeph Loeb style of having an established villian in every issue until we fight the big boss. It's becomes even more stupider when you add Judd Winick's retcons to the orignal story.

The mere involvement of Clayface destroys any pretense of a mystery story.

I'll never understand why it gets so much praise.

He is another AntiBatman, the main problem is that most of AntiBatmans were killed or becamse a joke, none of them get enough character development to beaa better character.

Hush was great as a concept, a character, but failed in the storyline.

i actually loved Hush...but i didn't love how they treated Thomas after the story, i didn't mind him looking like Bruce, or trying to spend all of Wayne's money, what i DID mind was him just becoming another crook locked up in Arkham and then just fading into the limelight, he had so much potential

@entropy_aegis: Wait, when did Bane start destroying the Pits? That sounds like an interesting arc.

Also, I'm very curious about what Riddler meant when he said "Poison Ivy has a thing about Catwoman". That was prior to Gotham City Sirens, so I'm sort of like ... You're going to make me think dirty thoughts if you leave it like that

Harley Quinn nearly killed Batman because he forgot to wear Kevlar in his cowl. That should be enough reason to not take it seriously.

He and Ra's had a fallout in Legacy, after that Bane did'nt take Talia's rejection too well so he started blowing up the pits out of spite poor Ra's.Gotham Knights #31-35,#47-49,Birds of Prey #26 all had Bane destroying the pits(they also covered his redemption),Nightwing #66 had a Bane cameo somewhere in a forest(presumably hunting a pit) and Birds of Prey#31-35 had a Ra's/Black Canary romance and Bane was acknowledged here.

Riddler was referring to the Long Halloween, also written by Loeb. There Ivy was controlling Bruce and Selina helped him break free.

I thought it was a decent arc. Lee's art is always good, story was ok, not the best batman and is a little overrated imo.

GamerGeek360, It has been a long time since I read that, and while I do not recall hating it, I can say that Loeb's work in Ultimatum, Wolverine and Hulk are more then enough to ensure that he should be tarred, feathered, and kicked down a mountainside while aflame. That is just my humble opinion, however.

Yay! the romance was my fav. thing on the arc and I love Jim Lee's art

That is the principal point on me I just see three things when I read a comic book:

    • The art: I love art and I draw things, so I really love comic books for the art and my favorite Batman is Jim Lee's (say it before) an the one of The Batman series is my second

    • The position in the time line: U know is my "nerd tic" and

    • The history: I don't look if it have sense I know anybody's perfect so I put the defects aside in other words "I'm simple"

And people here still show a bizarre insane love for Batman from 1989 and cant get over the fact Shumacher films were better that Burton films.

Not to talk about, how does Nolan work destroys Burton work.

I mean, that could cause a war here.
