I hear Conroy's voice when I read but I remember Dick saying something like his voice is a bad attempt at Clint Eastwood (so I guess that's a hint at Bale).

http://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/21518/does-batman-whisper-change-his-voice-in-the-comics Though AS Batman and Robin is set in the same Universe as The Dark Knight Returns.

I also hear Conroy's voice when I read Batman. I hear Efrem Zimballist Jr. when I read Alfred and Laren Lester when I read Dick Grayson. I guess that TAS left quite the impression on me lol.

Ugh, nothing that is said nor seen from All Star Batman & Robin should be taken with a grain of salt. Frank Miller is an idiot.

Batman sounds like Kevin Conroy, or at least that's what I imagine.

I always hear Conroy when I'm reading Batman or when Batman speaks in Justice League as well. Conroy's pretty much defined how I imagine Batman to speak though.

#6 Posted by KRYPTON (1868 posts) - - Show Bio

Like Kevin Conroy.

#7 Posted by JohnnyWalker (821 posts) - - Show Bio

I think more of a Southern Fried Morgan Freeman

@Deranged Midget: You shouldn't speak like that for the man that re-invented Batman. Anyway, I agree with you on the Conroy voice thing.

Nothing like Bale! That's for damn sure! Lol

Like Michael Keaton, of course. Or Marcus Phoenix.

@Phaedrusgr: Re-invented Batman? Far from it.

Kevin Conroy.

Batman will always sound like Kevin Conroy for me, he is the definitive Batman voice actor. I'd actually say that he's got the best voice for the character of all the actors to portray the character (both voice actors and actors who portrayed the character physically as well).

@Deranged Midget:Bara bara bara bara bara bara bara, Batman!

#18 Posted by YMCMB (160 posts) - - Show Bio

I hear the majority of Batman characters as how they were voiced in TAS

#19 Posted by The_Tree (7946 posts) - - Show Bio

I read him in Kevin Conroy's voice.

#20 Posted by Joygirl (19951 posts) - - Show Bio

Kevin Conroy... same way Mark Hamill is Joker and Arleen Sorkin is HQ.

Yeah, Bale is indeed a bad attempt of the greatness known as Clint Eastwood. =3. lol.

Exact same as the animated series for Batman, Alfred, Gordon, and Joker. Dick Grayson has my voice. Jason Todd has Jensen Ackle's voice from Under the Red Hood. Catwoman has a composite of Arkham City and the animated series. I make up voices for Damian (a raspy young Aang), Talia (Selma Heyek doing a Mid-Eastern impression), and Tim (more Young Justice than animated series). Action Comics Superman has Nolan North's voice, same with Superboy, and modern day has a composite of North and Tim Daly.

This is entertaining I never thought about this really!

Kevin Conroy is the definitive batman voice. And will always be the one I hear in my head reading

#26 Posted by CrimsonAvenger (1162 posts) - - Show Bio

I hear Bruce Greenwood's Batman voice from Under the Red Hood. For Joker I hear Mark Hamill. For Harley I hear Arleen Sorkin. Dick Garyson & Tim Drake-Lorin Lester. For Superman though I hear George Newbern but for Action Comics Supes it's Nolan North.

Let us all just agree on this and close the thread.

Conroy no doubt!

#30 Posted by InnerVenom123 (29510 posts) - - Show Bio

Depends on my mood.

Usually it's Conroy or Bale.

#31 Posted by Omega Ray Jay (7963 posts) - - Show Bio

Never really thought about this before for some strange reason, It depends on the art style for example in the recent issues of Batwing I didn't really get a Bale or Conroy vibe.

#32 Posted by comicdude23 (11331 posts) - - Show Bio

Most times I hear Conroy. But I'm starting to hear Bale's TDK voice.

#33 Posted by johnkmccubbin91 (3487 posts) - - Show Bio

If it had to be from something ATS but I usually think how I imagine them sounding

#34 Posted by DDangelico (221 posts) - - Show Bio

Conroy as Bats and Hamill as Joker.

Though every once and a while when Bats is doing an interrogation or something of the sorts I hear Bale's growl.

#35 Posted by SoA (5241 posts) - - Show Bio

@SupBatz: same here lol

#36 Posted by JohnnyGat (1578 posts) - - Show Bio

Mark Hamill

#37 Posted by Cap10nate (2726 posts) - - Show Bio

Gilbert Gottfried

#38 Posted by Frill_Artist (31 posts) - - Show Bio

He sounds like Mitt Romney. I'm not even trying to be funny.

#39 Posted by PurpleCandy (791 posts) - - Show Bio

I only hear Bale when he's interrogating someone in a Dark Alley or anything up close in personal. But I hear Conroy when it's just a normal story

#40 Posted by Durakken (1591 posts) - - Show Bio

While Conroy is the voice I hear when I read, that is not how it is described in text is a Clint Eastwood like impression that produced a gravelly voice so I'd imagine it would be something similar to conroy but with more of a growl (which is also described in the comics)

#41 Posted by Rabbitearsblog (6028 posts) - - Show Bio

When I read a Batman comic, I always hear Kevin Conroy's voice speaking as Batman since that's the interpretation of Batman I've always grown up with.

#42 Posted by ImTheDamnBatman (3548 posts) - - Show Bio

I actually liked Bale Batman's voice. COME AT ME

Same. Only do Bale's voice for TDK and usually Conroy.

#48 Posted by Aiden Cross (15526 posts) - - Show Bio

Kevin Conroy.

#49 Posted by Crash_Recovery (850 posts) - - Show Bio

I hear an unearthly voice produced by voice changing technology. It makes sense to me that Batman, as part of his intimidating persona, would utilize misdirection (voice throwing) and theatrics (voice changing) to frighten and disorientate his prey.

#50 Posted by r3d_rob1n (541 posts) - - Show Bio

Batman has always been Kevin Conroy in my head, unless he is interrogating someone in which case it is a version of Bale's growl. Alfred, Dick, Joker and Harley always sound like their TAS counterparts in my head. I though Jensen Ackles was perfect for Red Hood. I always give Tim my voice though, since there has never been a really definitive version for him.
