who has the best batman?

I particulary like Capullo's Batman.
The dark tone, the shadows everything mends together perfect.

After that Tony Daniel(his current colors don't fit batman well).

Jim lee's batman is too exposed.Batman should feel like a shadow.

Greg Capullo

I'm going to say Jim Lee on this one.

the first batman comic I ever read was drawn by capullo so he's my absolute fav

@sog7dc: My first batman comic was Hush(which ironically is his best work). But still i feel his art doesn't fit batman. He likes to play with lights not shadows.

i can choose iether between greg or jim they both have there ups and down i like them equely but i say greg

#10 Posted by SOG7dc (8093 posts) - - Show Bio

@squalleon:

I tend to agree. its beautiful but batman should be darker. and I made the mistake a while ago of pickingup all star batman instead of hush...I regret it so much

#11 Posted by lifeofvibe (3514 posts) - - Show Bio

@squalleon: thats why greg might be the best for batman

#12 Posted by SOG7dc (8093 posts) - - Show Bio

I will say that greg needs to draw other characters better. there's an issue of batman where bruce looks awesome but everyone else on the page looks anorexic and goofy

#13 Posted by Squalleon (4873 posts) - - Show Bio

@lifeofvibe: Currently i think he is.The other bat-titles aren't as good as the main one. Also Capullo has great imagination. You see it at his covers.
While Lee's covers are the so forgetable.

From these 4, Capullo , but it wasn't an easy decision...

Capullo depicts Batman with a certain vulnerability that I like.

Favorite's a tie between Jim Lee and Tony Daniel.

I quite like Turner's Batman too. Capullo's is alright, his comes across as a little shorter/stockier than I'd like.

Love the way Capullo depicts the suit as armor and as a price of advanced technology while still making Bruce look muscular and strong in it. The others, though they look great, look like common fabric to me

Turner's looks bitchin' from the pic.

it would help if you could tell us which one drew which batman

Same order as the thread title

Capullo's Batman really encompasses the whole essence of the character. He wins this one.

Capullo's Batman is perfect IMO. He does dark and gritty better than most.

#24 Posted by Breadspread (774 posts) - - Show Bio

Jim Lee's pretty good if you don't mind every character having the same face and body type :P

I agree... *administers secret art school high-five*
