I'm looking for issues that have plausible evidence that he does (& doesn't care). Esp. looking for one this guy mentioned where some guys bump into the Joker, he asks what they're doing, they tell him they're going to off Bruce Weyn, & he shoots them.
Batman
Character » Batman appears in 23635 issues.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Does Joker know Batman is Bruce?
"if joker knew bruce was the bat, there would be no batman"Nah, I'm pretty sure that Joker would be bored into suicide if Batman ever died....depending on the writer anyway. There have been lots of little hints that Joker knows it's him & that he would think of Bruce as the mask of Batman.
"he doesn't, strange part is that he knows that Jason Todd was Robin..."He knew to shoot Barbra Gorden too. If anyone hates anyone whos close to the Bat, it's the Joker. I haven't read many issues with Catwoman, but I think he knows who she is too.
"Joker knows his name"nope, only version of the Joker that knows who Batman is, is the animated Joker in the animated movie "Batman beyond: the return of the joker"
"Joker even goes on about him being a billionaire so how couldn't he?"
Denial.
"-.-"
It's better ther Joker doesn't know: he's the opposite of Batman right, if he was to find out that he was just a "normal" human, his character would be unfounded.
"who a normal human?"
Batman: Bruce Wayne. If Mr J was to find out that he was basing himself off the alter-ego of a distraught playboy....
"you never read the killing joke eh..."
That's a very good point: I have but it was like 4 months ago.
Joker was a normal guy, he was involved into a line of unfaithuful events and became the joker not because of the bats but because of his life.
"Joker was a normal guy, he was involved into a line of unfaithuful events and became the joker not because of the bats but because of his life."
No. Batman was the one who chased him, whislt he was suing the guise of the Red Hood, and he fell into the chemical pit whilst fleeing. Arguably any sane/ normal person would not have taken part in such a crime: what was the purpose? The people whom he was doing it for had died.
"and he wanted a better life for his wife and child so ANY sane mane would have done it"
He commited the crime after his wife and child had died: the reason for the crime no longer existed so the crime was pointless.
"He stook up for his word and would have gotten killed if he didnt".......
Yeah, or he could have set them up.....
"one lonely guy who just got a trauma for life... sure...."
To put it in perspective: at the end of the day Joker's creation was due to a distraught playboy, dressed in a black cape and tights, acting as a vigilante, chasing the man into a pit of acid.
"LOL see? wouldnt you be f@Cked up after that experience? xD"
Yes, but by my reasoniing if I found out who had actually doen that to me, my foundation woudl be destroyed.
after the last issue of batman r.i.p I think it's safe to say that both Joker and Gordon are completely sure that Bruce is Batman
Unless he's drugged and won't remember any of it, cause then he'd easily figure out who Robin and Nightwing are.
I think Gordon's known who Batman is for awhile now, he's just never come out and said it.
Yes, but I still need names of issues where the Joker is implying that he knows whom Batman is.
in the recent Batman 180, the Joker heard 2 people in a row call Batman "Bruce" & didn't seem a tall interested. How hard would it be to pin the name Bruce to a man who can afford all the shit Batman has?
Nope; ditto what others said here, too: if he knew, there'd be no Batman. Or The Joker, for that matter.
"he doesn't, strange part is that he knows that Jason Todd was Robin..."That makes no sense at all.
Nevermind, I did find evidence in earlier comics, but after the last 2 issues of RIP, if he didn't know then, he knows now. Prior to hearing "BRUCE!" shouted by a couple of people, the Joker already said "Why be an orphaned boy when you can be a superhero?"
I prefur the Batman Confidential origin story, with "Jack" being an already borederline psychotic bachelor & no cheesy Red Hood, even if the art reminded me of Aeon Flux & went down in quality each issue. The whole story just made more sence. Plus, I don't like the idea of Joker ever having a family, it overhumanizes him. I didn't like Going Sane much either & like to think of it as Otherworlds. Plus Lovers & Madmen was significantly longer & more detailed. I like him as psychotic & creepy as possible, with a single-minded obsession & no motional attachments. Kiss camp goodbye forever, sayounara.
Did I mention earlier that the Joker didn't respond at ALL when he heard Jet call out his name. He wasn't suprised or dissapointed or enev happy or angry.
"i can recall where he and joker went at it and batmans mask got beaten off"Ledends of the Dark Knight 65?
He knows. Just doesn't care.
From Batman #663:
"Why be disfigured outcast when I can be a notorious Crime God? Why be an orphaned boy when you can be a superhero?"
Joker says this during their fight (though neither Batman nor Harley hear it as his speech is slurred because of the damage to his face). The canonity of this story is uncertain, however, since the Joker's face appears repaired in later issues and he can speak coherently.
"Vlad Tepes Dracula said:Part of his mask was destroyed. His whole face wasn't exposed. Then again, he could have unmasked him if he wanted, but he seemed to be so overjoyed by his victory he just blew up the building and turned sane."i can recall where he and joker went at it and batmans mask got beaten off"Ledends of the Dark Knight 65?"
"Vlad Tepes Dracula said:That whole Red Hood thing was so cheesy. >_> How did he see? How did he breathe? Why was he waring it? Why a cape? Why was no one else dressed up to add to the cunfusion? If I was Batman or a cop & I saw someone that conspicuous, he'd be the first person I'd pick on. Why did he only ever think of his old wife again in Gotham Knigts? Aside from that, the other Joker story that left me annoyed & teaming with questions was Going Sane. Of course, most of my WTF moments are about Batman whenever I read the Silver Age releases."Joker was a normal guy, he was involved into a line of unfaithuful events and became the joker not because of the bats but because of his life."
No. Batman was the one who chased him, whislt he was suing the guise of the Red Hood, and he fell into the chemical pit whilst fleeing. Arguably any sane/ normal person would not have taken part in such a crime: what was the purpose? The people whom he was doing it for had died."
joker doesnt know. He could know if he wanted to. he is very resourceful and as someone else said, he knows other villains who know. But i think he doesnt want to know. he likes where he is now. Crazy. Genius. Misunderstood. feared. respected.
But he doesnt know. he doesnt have a clue. Otherwise, Tim Drake would have been killed years ago. And Dicks career as Nightwing would have been hell with Joker trying to kill him (and you know he would).
however, i think Joker's sone Anarky knows who Robin is. he's suposed to be Uber smart, and it looks like he's going rouge again.
"For the record, spell check is a free forum tool. If you see it underlined in red, it means you spelled it wrong. IT'S A FREE TOOL! UTILIZE IT!"firefox is still working out bugs from having to be re-writen for Vista. As a result, spell check doesn't always function, and im really not used to typing on a laptop. As long as you can figure out the words, why dont you just overlook the minor spelling errors one is bound to make from time to time.
Not veryone knows their spelling and grammer good!!!!
