I really like it. As stated above, it's written by Paul Dini. And it's drawn by Dustin Nguyen so the art is also very good. The story is centered very heavily around Batman and Catwoman's relationship so if you're interested in that you'll probably like it. But even if you're not, it's probably worth reading if you're a fan of Hush.

Heart of Hush gave the villain a credible backstory and a credible explanation for his jealousy. When his reasons were first stated in Hush, it didn't make much sense to me. Also, it seemed an awful lot like Loeb just shoehorned the whole Batman rogues gallery and supporting cast into the story because Loeb likes to have all the characters in his stories.

Storywise: Heart of Hush > Hush

Artwise: Hush > Heart of Hush

Heart of Hush. Hush isn't bad, but it felt far too much like 'villain of the month'. I felt that the story was much tighter helt together in Heart (not that it wasn't in Hush, but it wasn't very visible). I honestly think that if it wasn't for Jim Lees art, Hush would be, not forgotten, but neither the classic that it's often considered as today.

    WHAT PEOPLE!? WHAT!? o......wait ._ .

well just to add my two cents HoH was definitely a better story, but Hush had that Jim Lee charm.

also, i like how Jim Lee took my name from a character i created back when PSO first launched on Dreamcast. At least the character didnt completely suck.

I like Heart of Hush better than Hush. Hush, Heart of Hush and House of Hush from Dini's Streets of Gotham run are all good stories.

@fadetoblackbolt: Did Paul Dini write Heart of Hush during his Detective Comics run? If so that's definitely better since Dini is a more consistently better writer than Loeb by far.

Haven't read Heart of Hush but I don't think because one writer is consistently better means they're automatically the right choice.
Sometimes a bad writer can bring out a great story and sometimes even the best writers can push out a real stinker.
    Just sayin'.

@decoyelite: I've read more of Dini's work than Loeb's. Loeb puts out more sub par or not good work than Dini does on record. And I have read Heart of Hush online and seen for myself that it's better than Hush so there's that.

Well I think that's the thing you should have said. :P

Seriously which writer has but out more good stuff shouldn't matter in a story vs story comparison. It's all about the quality of the two specific stories mentioned.

@decoyelite: Yeah my bad there. But the reputation of a writer can come into play if they're slated to write a title. Though Aaron has really surprised me with his Thor: God of Thunder work given that I don't like his Hulk or X-Men work.

@lvenger: Certainly past work factors most of the time, just not story vs story.

Honestly though I'm glad I don't know of most creators reputations. I wouldn't have bought Alias if I had heard how terrible Bendis can be and I really enjoyed that book.

@decoyelite: I tend to keep away from certain creators works like Bendis or Fraction. I try and go for writers I trust and like moreso than those I don't.
