I'm the reverse - I think most of his non-Batman work vastly outshines his work on Batman.

Doesn't mean I don't enjoy his Batman stuff at times, but it's not his best effort.

I only care about his Batman books

He's a good bat writer but don't hin to bring other leagues in his bat books if they're hust going o be use like endgame story arc.

I like his work, mostly his Batbooks but he's pretty great with other characters as well. I loved Talon granted it was mostly James Tinyon. And I also enjoyed Superman Unchained.

I have only read his Batman work, but I hear his only work is good.

if you read most of his work you will notice patterns...he tries to change the batman formula or show new ways... first i thought yeah great change but the more i think about it and read about it i notice for myself that the changes are wrong. He should try to change the small things, not the big things. To kill batman off and put gordon in the suit was wrong. To put grayson in the suit was not so wrong but still wrong as well. There can't be another batman, nobody can be batman, there is only one batman because only bruce wayne trained his entire life. His Son can fit his shoes as well. Jim Gordon is honestly a joke. Through writing he is made into a hero like batman but he isn't. The whole story is not good. Its a change for the change. Also Zero Year was not zero year. Zero year is bruce's training years. So just to not put it in the same liga as first year they made zero => no sense. Bruce is no human anymore... he is so deranged like his lunatics he is chasing , it is not healthy anymore. He nearly doesn't sleep, does he eat? and manipulating.

Now for the stories. Owls story was very good. The ending and about his lost brother was a forced change and beginning of the changes. Death of the Family was superb. You could really see the love for joker from snyder. Zero Year was good but forced with the nature thing. How long was bruce gone that everywhere was nature??? was he in a coma? lol riddler couldn't take control with so many gangs in gotham. It was a forced story. The Joker Zero year was superb. Endgame was disappointing and really endgame as you could see what happens if comics would get no sequel but here first it started to show fail logic. Aquaman's microbes would eat away joker's gas and the foam. Superman's kryptonian nature can create antibodies for doomsday but not joker gas? wonder woman is half a god and is immune. Barry's metabolism would outrun the illness. It was just in all honesty to show bruce is allmighty and no human anymore because he can predict everything and has preparation for everything. He was from endgame too weak to fight joker? no... joker is a joke. He would still beat him because he survived diana's attack. No human would but he's batman right? : D Joker is so strong because he is unpredictable but not because he is strong in combat.

As a result i must say his stories start to show logic holes.

@arkhamace: the reason the league was infected was because Joker had designed a virus specifically for the entire Justice League something that would get past their immunities. Joker in endgame wasn't stronger because he's a natural badass, it was because of the Dionysium in his body. The reason Grayson couldn't be Batman after endgame was because he was still working for Spyral. Riddler didn't take over any gangs, he just created anarchy for the most part. And it was called Zero Year because it was before he put on the cowl, and bits of his training was shown during the story. Also if you read the dark knight and detective comics Zero issues they show when he first took off for his training and his final lesson during his time away. Basically the only reason why no one but Gordon took up the mantel for Batman was because they were away or doing their own thing.

sry but even bruce can't design such virus otherwise he would press the red button and don't build justice buster.joker is no chemistry specialist, he is a lunatic and a very dumb one. it was a plot hole. Second the dyonesium heals but don't enhances someones abilities, if yes then i must read that part. Okay that with spyral makes sense. But jim is no batman, he smokes and someone smoking can't be in top condition. Gordon doesn't trained 10+ years like bruce. The gangs would create anarchy like riddler but they were not shown. Like no gangs existed only red hood gang and riddler. But gotham is the worst place on earth, there are tons of gangs. Your zero year explanation makes sense but i would prefer a complete book with his dark knight and detective comics issues where he was training as "zero year" I know this jim is batman is new and fresh but really why jim? i have no problem with the new bat suit, the suit is awsome but gordon...ok the more i think about it it makes a little bit sense but i will bruce in the cowl he is the first and best. To be batman is the biggest honor and symbol in gotham.

i have thought this through and maybe i have an explanation. joker's mass biological weapon is the joker gas and maybe he is an expert on that mysterious gas. This would explain why he succeded in infecting them. The second plot hole in zero year could be described as "the gangs were intimidated" and the last... jim as a commissioner in the most criminal city in the world has trained in all the years to stay healthy and as an ex marine he sure knows how.

Why haven't anybody brought up The Wake and Wytches? Those are awesome as f***. Sure, the end of The Wake was a little bit rushed, but nonetheless, awesome as f***!

I like his work in general but his other comics have been able to hold my interest far better or longer than his Batman run. It just feels very repetitive at times and I might also be a bit irritated about his dislike for Damian because it sadly effects his writing.

I am most fond of his Batman work though Superman UN and Talon was pretty good too
