Dick Grayson will be Batman for atleast the next two years!!!!

Im sure alot of people dont care and others will be upset but this is fantastic news to me. I love Dick Grayson and the more main stream time he can get the better. Im not exactly sure when Bruce will be back or if when he gets back he will be batman again but It has been announced that Dick will be the batman in the JLA comics for the next two years worth of books. Now thats not to say that Bruce wont come back to Batman and take over all the books again but Dick Will be batman (sorry if im repeating myself i am excited about it. They said The team will consist of Batman, Supergirl, Donna Troy, Jade, Mikaal Tomas as Starman, Congorilla and Jessie Quick.

Well James Robinson said that Dick would be in the JLA book not as Batman necessarily. Also I hope he does not go back to being Nightwing.

the bigger question i have for you is the IF (not say he will be) but IF bruce turns out to be Obern Sexton would u be unhappy if he stayed as Sexton rather then becoming Batman again

I like Dick (I won't bother to rephrase that), but he's not really Batman. He just wears the Batman suit and everyone calls him Batman. Bruce is really Batman. I do, however, think this is a good opportunity for Dick to show us what he can do. Meanwhile, maybe Bruce will create some other persona and fight crime in a different way.

It's not the members of the League that matters, it's the adventures if the members mattered then all those years the JLA had the trinity people would not have been giving them crap.

two years too long.
dont get me wrong. I love seeing the younger heroes growing up but DICK isnt ready yet. Maybe bruce will further train him or something. LOL most likely not... =(

I actually think there's potential in Frank Miller's throw-away identity "Hood" in All-Star Batman and Robin; especially for Damian.

This is how I'd have it:

Bruce-Batman
Dick-Nightwing
Damian-Robin/Hood
Tim-Red Robin/Robin

Stagger at my originality and imagination (sarcasm intended)

I like Jason as Red Hood too; I was suggesting Damian as "Hood".

It might get confusing, but we have Robin and Red Robin at the moment, and people live with that.

pretty sure he stressed Dick would be in the Justice League, I don't remember him saying anything about Batman

I'm looking forward to see how is this going to end, I think the majority would want Bruce back as Batman, anyway at first sounds weird but who knows, maybe the series needed a 'refresh'.

i know i saw something stating they had plans to keep this team as the JLA team for 2 years worth of stories and writing. im looking for it now.

I don't really mind Dick being Batman, I'm a fan of his character, and we all know Bruce will be back someday.
regardless of what is said by Robinson, who's interview was fantastic, at the end of the day he's not the editor of DC or Batman, so while I'm sure he would like to tell 2 years worth of stories, I don't know if that's going to happen. If he is, that's fantastic, if not, I'm sure the majority can agree they want to see Bruce.
Either way Dick Grayson should be in the League, he's earned his keep whether it be as Nightwing, Batman, or some other character, I'm looking forward to how things turn out

yea. I dont really care if he stays batman or not but i feel like him going back to nightwing would be a step back, I wouldnt mind two batmen. I always thought it was dumb to not have them both on the JLA. I would be ok with him going back to nightwing but i think he would need to set up more of his own cave or outpost (i know he used to have one but they didnt show it alot that i can remember and i guess i would just like him to have his own Alfred type and have more of a permanent residence. Bludhaven was a good spot for him. He needs to find a place like that but maybe a little brighter. Oracle could be his Alfred type (and she could still be oracle for everyone else as well) staying at the fort working with the tech. Then they could have a kid and he could have a sidekick (if Damien doesnt leave with him when Bruce comes back)

I've enjoyed Robinson in the past and I'm sure I will again but his league's leavin' a bad taste in my mouth so far.
Started with poor dialogue between characters early in Cry For Justice, And poor characterisation (Hal in a threeway with Huntress and Lady Black Hawk? Now Gail Simone's back with Birds of Pay i'm looking forward to her debunking that one. I'm sure we've got a good scene between the ladies talking about the rumour and explaining how a drunk Hal can't hol his liquor and fell for two slutty cosplay groupies).
I'm givin' this League a chance but it's not off to a good start for me. Supergirl v's Power Girl's comin' up? Been done.

My real problem with the team members is that it really will feel like that alternate leaugue we saw in 52 made up of lady versions of our faves. Now I don't have a problem with lady characters (just stood up for my friends Huntress and Lady Black Hawk over the slutty rumours) but I do have a problem when the originality's not there and i'm pretty nervous for this team. Why not put Mera on too? Batwoman and Captain wonder maybe? The Martian girl from teen Titans maybe?Is there a lady who shrinks or a guy with a sonic scream? How old's the girl speedy now? Can we have her as Green Arrow please? We could flip the gendre of all the whole team and see how it goes down.
Why not add a dinosaur as well as a gorilla? The kids still dig dinosaurs, right?

I'll give it a chance but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

But hey, what do I care?

'As long as Ollie's still Green Arrow I'll be around 'till the next round of pointless deaths post Blackest Night. Or the next big pointless retcon of every thing that's been set in stone over the course of the previous year. Which ever comes first :D

Bruce is Batman but i still love Dick ;).
As long as the comic is written well cuz Robinson's Gay for Justice was just about the worst thing ever
I think it will be interesting to see how Dick handles working with a team as Batman
compared to how Bruce normally does.
