Bruce Wayne witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swearing to avenge them. He trained extensively to achieve both mental and physical perfection, mastering detective skills, martial arts, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on criminals' fear and utilizing a high-tech arsenal in his crusade to rid Gotham City of crime, the legendary Batman was born.
Was anybody disappointed with the latest Detective? I was excited to see more of this new guy Merry Maker and he gets canned before he can really showcase himself
Oh definitely his costume design was really awesome. I'm wondering if the ending was supposed to be some kind of poetic justice or a cliffhanger for something else.

Poetic justice, they castrated any chance of making him a future villain and I'm fine with it.Not every villain has to be the next big thing and they most likely job to Batgirl and Huntress later on.
Meh. Dropped Detective in favor of Batman & Robin. I like Fabok and I hear Layman is supposed to be good, but it just didn't hold my interest after a 3-issue trial run. If you're a $4 book and want to avoid the axe, you have to be amazing or called "Justice League."
I thought Layman handled it well. Like Entropy_Aegis said, he served his purpose for the story and doesn't need to become the next big villain. Plus, I thought the twist with Merrymaker being the doctor was pretty cool.

I'd like to see Merrymaker return, but not the same guy. Make it a mystery or have the Doctor escape somehow. But I wasn't disappointed at how this ended, I was pretty surprised that the Doctor was the Merrymaker. I hope to see him make a return, and want revenge on Batman for what he did too him.
