Batman: The Brave and the Bold has ended so we've been left with a void when it comes to animated Batman programming. We've heard that the next show will be entitled Beware the Batman. Little information has been released before but today an official teaser has surfaced.

What's the angle on this incarnation of Batman?

A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely new generation of fans. With WBA’s Sam Register executive producing, and Batman Beyond’s Glen Murakami and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’s Mitch Watson producing, Beware the Batman, based on characters from DC Comics, is coming soon to Cartoon Network!

The original image listed the show as being released in 2013. SuperHeroHype has mentioned it's due later this year. The idea of a CGI Batman series could give us a fresh take on the Caped Crusader. You can bet we'll keep you updated as soon as we discover more information.

*sigh* Not digging the CGI choice but I'll still give it a chance.

Agreed. I'd rather see a return back to the The Batman series myself. Or A Flash cartoon would be nice. Just not CGI

I want to batman to take a break. A break for almost 5 years.

I am still not loving the art, but I will probably give the episode a try

#10 Posted by TheMess1428 (2176 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

I am boycotting this series. It's going to be nothing like any Batman I've ever experienced so therefore it is not the real Batman. Even Batman: The Brave and the Bold was better than this.

#11 Posted by _Zombie_ (9595 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

I'll stick to YJ and EMH for now. Not fond of the CGI here.

Another Batman show. Seriously, I mean Im DC's biggest fan but why don't we just rename the company BIPP? BIPP = Batman Incorporated Pimpin' Publishers! I mean the art looks interesting other than its another CGI thing but come on, there ARE other heroes that the DCU has that can be made into animated series!

#16 Posted by Grimoire (421 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

I have not been let down by an animated Batman series yet so I will watch this. Being in CG doesn't bother me at all just as long as Batman acts like Batman and not a knock off. lol

CGI. Ugh. We'll see. Not a big fan of GL CGI series. But we'll see how it goes.

I'm fine with it being CGI, not sure about the title of the show and I hope we get better villains...

I have a feeling this cartoon will violate the sanctity of my childhood, and while I did say the same thing about Batman: Brave and the Bold (which kinda did a little bit) this seems to be way outside my comfort zone, I mean I don't like the animation style of these animated CGI shows, I don't like the idea of having Katana as the new Robin figure, it just doesn't feel right.

As for cameos and stuff, it's going to be a little hard to top Brave and the Bold, but I'd like to see some "updated" heroes and villains that suit the darker tone and even some of newer characters to the DC Universe (mentioned villains notwithstanding) and for the love of God can we please have the Network in there at some point, or at least a decent number of them.

I dont like CGI but honestly im excited for this show. new villains and most importantly its darker, plus i love batman, and am glad he is being overused

#22 Posted by fenixREVOLUTION (883 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

Excited for this, love me some Batman cartoons.

#23 Posted by RedOwl_1 (1664 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

Story sounds cool, and trying villains other cartoons haven't presented looks like a good idea (I dunno how they are going to do with Pyg, is kinda much bloody situations)

Also I know Alfred has a "interesting" past that goes beyond that buttering, but that's going TOO FAR

Oh and CGI

Looks HORRIBLE

I'm fine with the CGI. But i don't get why they're trying to do all these radical pseudo-Batman cartoons. Just do Batman. Not goofy Batman, not super dark and different batman. Just Batman.

I'll give it a shot, but i DO NOT like the inclusion of Katana. Really? Out of 5 Robins, Nightwing, Batgirl, Spoiler, Huntress, etc. They had to use Katana? One of the loosest Bat-affiliated characters ever. She was on his Outsiders line up...and that's about it. DO NOT WANT.

Just give me Batman. Also they better drop that "Alfred with a gun" idea right-quick. That's NOT ok.

**Sidenote: another batman cartoon? I Love batman, don't get me wrong. But really? He hasn't not had an animated series since the 90s. This is his 6th show? And he was in JLU and he's in Young Justice. Superman needs another animated series. And it's about damn time Flash and Wonder Woman get a quality show too! And Shazam!

I don't think so... Let's evaluate the most famous love interests, shall we...

BATMAN:

Catwoman

Talia

Wonder Woman (JLA cartoon)

Vicki Vale

WOLVERINE:

Jean Grey

Domino

Mystique

Mariko Yashida

Silverfox

I could go on...

Wolverine wins this battle!!

From what I see this show comes up with some interesting points

1. It will be the first CGI series so far. I won't judge it by that, but honestly there are very few awesome things CGI has offered me TV show standard.

2. Batman looks cool... Golden Age cool.

3. By the rogue gallery selection, Batman looks and overall atmosphere of the story, it seems that it will be a darker show, which is just what the franchise needed again. The Batman was aimed at a younger audience (however, I would totally dig a Flash cartoon like that) and TBATB was just too geeky (which was the reason I loved it).

4. And not a single Robin was given that day. I like that, if I wanted to see a show for Robin I would rather see Yong Justice. Katana's fine.

@NightFang: probably easier to use the same tools for crappy CGI. Looks exactly like Green Lantern to me...which also sucks.

Sounds interesting. I would have preferred Cassandra Cain to Katana though if they wanted an Asian ninja girl sidekick. I don't really get the "violating my childhood" talk. Young Justice disregards a shit ton of continuity and is still an extremely enjoyable show.

People complained when Brave and The Bold was announced, they all said "oh great another Adam West show" or "I want my Batman to be dark and brooding".....then those nay-sayers actually saw the show and had to eat their words. People complained about Green Lantern The Animated Series before it came out, saying things like "Oh the CG looks like crap" or "What?, no John Stewart, lame".....then it actually came out and those same people quickly had to shut up because of how good it is.

Now people are complaining about this show, who wants to see all those people be wrong? Come on, lets see a show of hands!!! I sure do cause it's fun as heck never letting them live it down. Nothing is more satisfying then seeing a person complain about a film or show before seeing it then watch them make a complete reversal and praise it. Cause I get to be the one who said "Oh weren't you the dude who said that you wanted your Batman to be dark and brooding?"

People need to chill out and stop judging what the show is going to be like just by a few picture, a trailer, or whatever else. Once the show actually premieres, then criticize it.

A cartoon to coincide with the new film was foreseen. By your dates listed, I'll guess at the least the deadline for this will get pushed up to bring it closer to the film, as well to push related holiday merch.

I hope it isn't as hokey as G.L. is. G.L. is just pure crap at the moment. I don't mind the use of new villains. Yay for new villains. Just make it dark, and at leat take one note from from the Timm and Dini era. Use the right voice over actors. Real actors for voices and not professional OVER acting voice over actors that make it seem like it's...................over acted and child like. Even with some of the the last few straight to video animated films have been using some of these horrible horrible voice over actors and it makes watching them hard to watch. Batman is going to be watched by the younger crowd no matter what. Try and make it appeal to the older crowd as well. I had a friend tell that me when he was in jail, the only time the place was quiet was when Batman the animated series was on. Think Nolans Batman, not Schumakers. Even BMTAS was more or less styled off of Burtons Batman, but now shows seem to be tongue and cheek bubble gummy Schumaker styled. Just weak. It's also why a lot of Marvel animated projects are stupid as well. People love the X-men show from the 90's but it's hard to watch because it's so damn childish. Sure it's comics, but it doesn't mean it has to sound like something made for a 5 year old. I watched a bunch of them thinking that the story was okay but the acting was crap. Made me not watch it. I'm gettig the feeling from G.L. right now. Justice League worked, UJL worked, Superman worked. Nothing right now is working tho. This new Ultimate Spider-man looks horrible to me. It looks like something for my 8 year old nephew. Such a let down. Batman Year One was great but it had nothing cheesy about it. In fact, most of the actors who did the voice work in it, I can pull out from a movie Ive seen. I can't do that with other stuff. Take a note from that.

#49 Posted by JamDamage (815 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

@Grimoire: You liked the "The Batman"? The show that came after Batman the animated series. The one with the flipping around long haired Joker? Really? I thought it was just awful. I tried it a lot and saw a couple of okay ones, but for the most part hated it.
