Tim because he is actually a detective.

Best Robin?

Between the three Robins that Batman had employed as his sidekick which one was most cut out for it? I personally have to say it was Tim Drake. He plays the part great. He works great with Batman and probably his true protege' as far as the current storyline goes. Don't get me wrong Dick Grayson is the reason for there even being a Robin in the first place but he makes such a better solo character as Nightwing. And Jason Todd... Well nobody really liked him as Robin that's why they eventually killed him off and resurrected him later on as Red Hood and eventually became Red Robin. Opinions?
I also just want to add since I have a feeling this is going to come up. I feel that if Bruce Wayne were to die that Dick Grayson would be the only one who could take on the Mantle of the Bat and be up to the task.
tim's made it a point to say several times that he doesn't want to be batman and dick's actually gotten mad that bruce didn't make him his replacement when bruce was injured...i'd say that tim is the better robin and that if anything dick should takeover as batman and tim becomes nightwing

Later on though Bruce had left for a while and had asked Dick to fill in for him. This was when Nightwing was feeling like a failure and his main drive to accept the mantle temporarily was so that he could prove to himself that he wasn't. "
true

Dick Grayson created the name and is the only one that has taken the codename Robin in other media (except in the last season of BTAS). He was the most skilled fighter and like everyone says in comics. He was good for Batman, he was the one thing that stopped him from going mad
But
Dick Grayson is Nightwing, has been for like 20 years now. And I can't see him as someone else. While his past and roots as Robin can't be ignored he is Nightwing and in one way he always was.
Tim Drake may not be the fighter that Dick Grayson is or Jason....Or Stephanie. But he is a true detective, having discovered Batman's identity at a young age (I still think that Batman let him discover it) and a great Robin in his own right. He was the one that brought Batman out of the darkness after he had broken his relationship with Nightwing and Jason Todd had died.
You compare them and there will be people that don't want to accept that the new one is better in the role of Robin than the original, but the truth is that except in the leader skills (yeah like he is going to use them when he is with batman) and the hand to hand combat Tim Drake is a better Robin than Dick Grayson was.
So to make it short and sweet:
Dick Grayson is the one true Nightwing and Tim Drake is the one true Robin

So true.
Tim Drake is the best Robin and if you ask me he will be the one to take on the Mantle of the Batman just like in Titans Tomorrow.

please don't bring the titans of tomorrow lol
after the recent storyline I hate the idea of anything that has to do with it to happen
No love for Stephanie Brown? She may not have been the longest or the best Robin, but she sure did have her heart in the right place.

personally I think that the only ones that can battle for the title of best robin are Dick Grayson and Tim Drake.
Stephanie was a better Robin than Jason tough
Pretty much a unanimous opinion here. Dick Grayson is NightWing. He would assume the roll if asked to but I don't think Dick wants it. Tim is being groomed as the replacement. Not much has been said about Jason Todd. Personally, I don't care too much for him. Has Jason ever been potrayed as a decent character other than in The Cult (by Jim Starlin)?
Shouldn't the question be which of the four robins is the best?
Tim is the best robin, dick the best crimefighter that has been robin. Jason was a bit of a nut.
Stephanie Brown. I like her upbeat, positive attitude while still having a violent streak that Batman doesn't like. I have a feeling that ten years in the future continuity-wise, she'll be a bit like the Huntress.
Also, to anyone that says "She had no detective skills", Tim couldn't fight at all when he started. He got loads of training, he got better. If she had had the chance, who knows, she might have become a great detective.
I have to agree with everyone else on this... Tim Drake is the better Robin and Dick IS and will stay Nightwing. for taking the mantle nightwing could take but he wouldn't take Batman he would stay as nightwing ... Tim would be the one who take the mantle as batman. Batman has great detective skills and Tim is a great detective. BUT detective skills and fighting skills can all be learned, what you need to consider is the morale of the person and who could keep Batman's 1 rule and not take a life? it is really a toss up between Tim and Dick. they both can do it and they both are great at what they do, personally though i think Dick should stay as Nightwing and Tim should take on the mantle.
Dick is better as far as being the only one who could take over for batman and is sick as nightwing
Jason sucked and sucks
Tim fits the best as robin but won't be anything but robin
"Tim because he is actually a detective.
"
And plus, I can read his work more than the others. Love Grayson, but I like Tim a lot more.
""Oh my god, I was looking for that picture a while ago for a friend. What comic and issue is that if you know it from memory?
"inferiorego said:Because he'll shank me if I say different"Jason Todd"Why?"
"hush, don't remember the issue"You know, I remember, I think, it was in a Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee book.
"Nighthunter said:yup, that's Hush"hush, don't remember the issue"You know, I remember, I think, it was in a Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee book."
I've always had a soft spot for Grayson, but he makes a better Nightwing than Robin. I'm gonna have to go with Tim Drake.
