Idk, I mean, the best villian ever is The Joker, and Superman is supposed to be the best superhero (at least that's what I've heard) but in "World's Finest" Superman faces the Joker for the first time and he's down, Batman saves him, if it wasn't for Batman, Joker would have killed Superman, so I don't think he's overrated.
Batman
Character » Batman appears in 23647 issues.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Batman overrated?
Noone here seems to truly understand Batman, as a super detective, he can easily break in and find ways to access power if need be. Think Green Lantern ring, truth lassos, kryptonite, shit Im willing to bet he can even tap into the power cosmic in some crazy cross over. Batman is the shit
This is definitely a fanboy statement.
Batman's fanboys make him overrated
But not usuallyin his stories unless it is completely PIS like kicking Spectre in the face or shooting Aquaman with gum.
@deathstroke52: Please explain why "shooting Aquaman with gum" is PIS.

Aquaman, the King of Atlantis, Ruler of all creatures in the ocean, enhanced strength and agility, fairly intelligent. He gets beaten in about a second when Batman shoots a pink gum like material at him and he is suddenly helpless as he lay on the ground. It is kind of PIS but more just plain stupid. I know that only happened because they had to speed the transition to the big Superman-Joker reveal but still, that was not at all fair to Aquaman and his fans.
@deathstroke52: It is an oversimplification to say it was a pink gum thing. It was explained exactly what it was, how it was incredibly dense, drew the moisture out of him, ect. I understand that Aquaman is a badass, but the counter measure made sense.

Whether or not it makes sense doesn't change the fact that it is still none the less disappointing to see Aquaman get trashed like that :/
But I see what you mean.
@deathstroke52: I understand what you mean, I'd only grudgingly accept it if someone made Daredevil or Thanos look like a chump, even if it did make sense.
@thebourneposter: yeah, I agree :)
Hate to say it but Batman can pretty much beat anyone in a sense. as long as he is popular and liked he will keep winning and being at the top. That why when people are like Superman would destroy Batman I'm like no he wouldn't the writers would never let that happen. Batman must win.
Depending on the arc, writer and time period you could make the claim he was underrated. I know a lot of people feel the New 52 origins for batman were sorely lacking. But ultimately he is capable of bringing down every key member of the JLA (assuming all of his plans went according to plan). As a human with no superpowers that's an impressive feat even a non batman fanboy can appreciate. I being a big batman fan personally dont usually see him as underrated. If you wanted to see a underrated chracater look at cyborg who only recently was pulled from a supporting role into more or less a bigger spotlight.
Batman is my least favorite character . He is only relevant of Joker's greatness
It's the other way around, Batman is still awesome without Joker but Joker is almost nothing without Batman.
Batman is the greatest superhero of all time .
This.
Ha this some funny sh8
I can sum up my feelings on Batman with this:
Love the character. Despise the fanboys.
Yeah this bout sum it up
I'm sorry if I misbumped this.. I am very new here and this is my first post.
but...
Seriously, when is this gonna end? It's been 9 years. People been posting about Batman being overrated. It all started with this. Then, we get into CV fight where people often claims how Batman is overrated and that his fanboys says he can defeat god bla bla bla. Which you can hardly see in a CV discussion other than the trolls.
Then again, more of these Batman is overrated discussion came in
http://comicvine.gamespot.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/why-batman-is-ridiculously-overrated-1561630/
And then more, more and more.
People who complained about Batman being overrated in CV fight steps in and made posts.
http://comicvine.gamespot.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/is-batman-the-most-overrated-superhero-in-cv-battl-1591869/
Which isn't even original anymore.
Speaking of not being original, we then have people who are clearly the most original person in the universe.
http://comicvine.gamespot.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/batman-recently-became-overrated-1588405/
claiming that Batman "recently" became overrated.
Seriously guys, when will this stop? Do we need an "official" post about where the whole Batman being "overrated" thing should be categorized as the same as calling Aquaman lame, Superman overpowered and such things like that? Because let's face it, I'm sure I'm not the only person (entropy_aegis, Jack Donaghy, nickthedevil and some other somewhat intelligent human being) who see this crap cycles and is getting tired of it.
"Inspired by Jack Donaghy"
Yes, I think Batman is overrated mainly in terms of his prowess.
As a character, I love me some Batman, the comics, the movies, the games etc.
But the one thing that made me like him less over the years are the stupid Batman fans who think with prep he can beat anyone & everyone.
Batman is not overrated, not at all , but when ppl think that batman can defeat just about anyone with prep time that is stupid.
@vegetassgss: Yeah you're right that is stupid! Leave it to Constantine to do that.
@menow: ??? No it is not stupid. It all depends on how he story is told. Batman has ressources and is smarter than all of them. But I never sayd that Batman always wins against them. It is after multiple defeats that he finds out the right solution to overcome them. But I do agree that some "Batgod" stories are a little bit abussive
@menow: you should've bump the thread with your main id
