Batman Is Dead... Again?...
@vivide: around a year, Snyder will wrap up his newest arc around issue 50 and bring everything back to normal. He hinted it in an interview.
BTW i don't want him to die, you know.....
He hinted it in an interview.
???
The rule goes, if the body hasn't been found, the character isn't dead. I hope they keep Joker dead till his 100th year anniversary. So in 25 years.
The last scan imply's that it's forever...although he know, that forever, is until Snyder gets out of the Bat-chair...
This is stupid tho.
Changing Batman (Bruce) for Robocop-Batman (Jim Gordon) it's one of the dumbest ideas ever.
@bat_girl_cc: WAIT
Gordon is Batman!?
Everyone please shut up and stop spoiling the story! Well I honestly don't care because I'm more interested in seeing how it went from point A to point B.
He said he knows how far he can stretch a rubber band before it has to retract back to original shape or something along those lines in context of this new blue batman and him trying to experiment. He did imply that everything will be back to normal when he wraps up his run which is around issue 50.
He never said it'll be forever. In an interview he implied things will get back to how they were once he is wrapping up his run. Bruce's Batman won't be gone forever because he has to be in justice league and with Superman. This bunny rabbit will be useless there and DC knows better than to kill Bruce. I'm guessing he doesn't actually die in endgame, just gets lost somewhere or something other than actually killed off.

So we're basically getting 10 issues of Snyder NOT writing Bruce?....

Yeah but i see it as him experimenting, If it's done good we'll get a good story with a different kind of Batman, he did say tone was a bit light than his recent stuff and if it's bad it's still different and it'll go back to previous status quo eventually. Snyder is a good writer so i'm hoping it'll be good even without Bruce.
@silverpool: Gordon is in the robo-batman suit.
While I am interested to see how the Batman comic will be with out Bruce, Bruce better not be dead he just got his son back.
@silverpool: I don't think Gordon is replacing Bruce, He is just running around in the Robo-Batsuit until Bruce comes back.

Yes, it was revealed like a week ago, i think.

I know i was talking about the last scan on the OP...it imply's that it's forever, but we all know that there's no such thing as "forever" in comics...whatever this or any other writter does that it's "forever" will last until a new writter comes in, and retcons it.
I know that Batman (Bruce) > Robocop-Batman (Jim Gordon)...everyone knows that, and that's exactly what i said...this is a super-dumb idea!
If he wants to write not batman why cant he just write a elseworlds story why the hell did he have to kill off bruce... oh wait becuase dc is a bunch of idiots who only idea for sales seems to be kill off chacters

I prefer that to him writing Bruce poorly.
Yup, it is confirmed. I'm really disappointed in Snyder for this. I'm not paying to read about Gordon in some metal robotic batman suit. I will just wait patiently for batman to be revived. In whatever silly way they come up with this time. I really did not like #40 all that much. Endgame as a whole was amazing, but this one just fell flat for me at the very end.
And by the way, the scans from the OP aren't from issue #40
@ultrastarkiller: That is canon. Mentioned in Batman and Robin Omega one shot.

Yep. Plus he and Joker "died" in that cave with all that Dionesium(sp?) or as I like to call it, poor man's Lazarus pit. Watch when he comes back it will be because that stuff healed him.
Guys. Bruce HAS to be Alive. For a few reasons actually.
1. Dc WILL NEVER keep Bruce dead permanently. If that happened bye bye dc.
2. The silhouettes at the end of the issue (i think) shows Bruce with crutches and some other person.
3. Snyder himself said everything will be back to normal once the new arc ends at #50. The 'Normal' is Bruce being Batman duh.
4. Cover for Justice league #41.
Of course he's not dead. For so many reasons including the obvious one that he's Bruce Wayne. And Bruce is Batman.
All this is was a way for Snyder to end his Joker arc (that started in Death of the Family) with a bang while simultaneously being able to do something brand new with the Batman book for a while afterward. Snyder has basically already said that it's all going to snap back to the status quo (Bruce returning) after this upcoming arc.
Does comic-book-characters "dying" even means anything anymore?...when we know for fact that they can easly be brought back any time?...

At least give the person a cool death or something kind of open ended so that we'll suspend our disbelief easier when they come back. If they do bring him back, it'll be through some kind of retconn OR maybe through the Lazarus Pit. All I know is DC sales are gonna go down. I mean Dick is dead too but then again maybe he isn't.

Dick isn't dead...Grayson FTW
Bruce will be back 1 years time, maybe less, i'm pretty sure.

Huh that's strange because he seemed like he died in Batman #40. Remember when he had switched places with Batman? That gas the Joker used was poisonous and resulted in instant death IIRC. Maybe he just passed out but that makes no sense.
He's not dead. He just made a strategic retreat to the afterlife.
@silverpool: Yep. Appalling, right?

Bruce will still be appearing in the Justice League.
