What do you guys thinks of him branding people? To me it seems a little extreme, but in a way kind of makes sense to add to the whole mysterious urban legend vigilante. Do you think it fits with the character and has he ever branded someone before because this news to me?
Batman
Character » Batman appears in 23645 issues.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Batman branding criminals
It might not be that he's branding them, per se. It could just be a taser he uses, and you know how Batman has to have a bat symbol on all of his stuff...
@jloneblackheart: That kind of makes sense.
@darkdetective27: Or he's sadistically branding them out of character and there will be a dozen threads about it in the near future.
@jloneblackheart: Yeah there will and probably a couple news articles too.
I think it's pretty awesome and makes sense. Leave them with a friendly reminder as to why they should get a normal job instead of being thugs
I can't see batman taking the time to take off the dudes shirt and actually brand him but he WAS shirtless so maybe. This is basically Frank Miller Batman though so he can be darker and more cruel. I guess it's a good way to spread fear. I bet that guy won't try committing a serious crime again.
I don't mind it. I would have branded the forehead if i was Batman. So that the world sees he's a criminal and Batman owned him. How many Bat-brands you guys think the Jared Joker got?
@takeluutzen: Bizarely there arent any on him unless they are on his back. Though if he was branding Joker his body would be just covered in them he would look like Zsasz.
@darkdetective27: Maybe that is why he have so many tats, to cover it up.
@the_kidd: That could make sense.
Batman isn't a brutalizer most of the time, he uses the force needed to get what he needs but branding the criminals is a good way to make them afraid.
I much prefer this take on the Dark Knight. Instead of breaking a criminals arms and hanging him from the ceiling until GCPD arrives, he simply tosses the crook around, cuffs him to a bar, and brands him as a simple reminder to fear the Batman and to reflect on your criminal actions. Nothing more was necessary, and I like it that way.
