Batman and the Justice league never sits well with me.

I was reading Batman Legend. With three diffrent Batman stories.

This story Batman: The return of Bruce Wayne, has Batman time traveling due to Darkseid and the Justice League are trying to help him get back.

This story made me relise exactly why Batman and the Justice League never sits with me.

Batman is not super powered in anyway. He has made himself to be the peak perfect human in every way. So when I read Batman is time travleing...it seems too out of place. I then began to think about Batmans villians. They are all basicly just humans. No aliens trying to take over the world. There is science.

Killer Croc was born as he was and became a Criminal. Penguin is just a funny looking guy. Joker being the classic is just a madman.

Even the most fantasay driven villian in Batman....pales in comparison to the power the foes Superman, Wonderwoman or Green Lantern face.

So when you put all these SUPER HEROES together you now have hundreds of people that are far more powerfull than even Batmans most powerfull enemy.

Batman himself becomes super when he is with the JL. Since he is in super storylines. That it alters Batmans core.

With the same comic i have. its starts of with Batman and Robin must Die. Its not Bruce Wayne Batman. Yet its sevrel pages of no action. Instead its the Joker. How many times have we dealt with the Joker? It should be getting old. It isnt. Its the thaught provoking investigation. Trying to figure what the Jokers plan is befor its revealed. Wondering who will be manipulated by the Joker. In this case its the new Robin that is being preyed upon.

So I never like the thaught of Batman with the Justice League. Its alters the fundementals of Batman too much. How ever it is fun to have Batman completely out do all the heros.

Whats other peoples thaughts? Do you think Batman becomes a diffrent Batman when not in his own world?

Nope, you clearly did not get the symbolism that Return of Bruce Wayne represents. It's bascially saying the same thing you are,if you noticed he was never out of Gotham in any of those time travels.Batman being  sci-fi while still sticking to his roots is much more entertaining than the same old boring crime stories.Ofcourse certain hack writers screw up(Loeb) but you can't blame Batman for that.

@entropy_aegis: Oh no I like the story. Its very good. The way it is done it may be a little weird Batman time traveling it is how ever done in a very Batman way of him putting giant "BATMAN WAS HERE!" signs in time.

I dont complain exactly to this story. I just complain that when Batman is in JL I think that Batman is put up against things out of the usal range. I do hear you on the point of same old crime stories. However It was the same point I relised how long have I been entertained by Batman chaseing the joker? I still want more. Ofcourse with such moments like Barbra Gordon being shot by the joker and such. You seem to get more poignant moments with Batman and Joker.

This is a point that was revisited in JLA #0 Pre-Dcnu

@Akyho: He gets things done regardless of whether he's with the JL or not.

Thats somthing I forget. Diffrent characters depending on who is writing them. 60s 70s Batman was more light and followed the Adam West Batman tv serise since it was the way people knew batman. To most batman fans its not right. Befor that Batman was on the darkside. While 80s and 90s Batman was darker than befor. So it all depends on the writer depends on Batman. So overall....I take the preferance over the dark psychological vs what Batman becomes with JL is the secrect wepon that come out at the end to with the solution.

Thats a nice little thing that is what I think. However Bruce Wayne/Batman is not useless to JL. He is still a top on all persuites of the mind. Body is what he can realy do with most of the villians that threaten the main core of JL. Flash is the closest to Batman being he is just fast and not as durable as the other.@jrock85 said:

That is very true. Which makes me like Batman more. He is a human fighting with aliens greek myths and what have you. Yet he is still gets things done.

Well if you like him being the trump card then read the first volume of Morrison's JL run back in the 90's. But I believe it was Morrison who at one point or another wrote that Batman had made himself into a god in the same sense that Superman and Wonder Woman are gods...
