Bruce Wayne witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swearing to avenge them. He trained extensively to achieve both mental and physical perfection, mastering detective skills, martial arts, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on criminals' fear and utilizing a high-tech arsenal in his crusade to rid Gotham City of crime, the legendary Batman was born.

Riddler is the one that manipulated all of the villains of Batman against him, using only intellect he manipulated everyone against Batman

Penguin is now the crime boss of Gotham city, with that resources he is quite dangerous

Poison Ivy not only is one of the few villains of Batman that has powers but also has been shown able to take control over Superman, meaning she is quite dangerous

that was a great showing for riddler but he isnt usually that dangerous.

anyone should be able to take penguin's title.  in fact it's kinda silly that he has taken over as crime boss, but hey the writers want him to be more than a little guy running around with a buncha different umbrellas.

and ivy can control people but how often can she control someone like that?  she would have to have someone that dangerous near her to use her powers on them.  without that, she's not that dangerous at all.

but youre right, they can be dangerous.  its just that it takes special circumstances for them to be that way.  if i'm explaining what i'm thinking well.

Thanks. I could see a couple characters being moved around but the general idea are thos are the top 10 "Batman Villians". I could have added other characters he has faught, but I don't consider them his villians.

  1. Joker (guess why)
  2. Two-Face (thats cos he's Bats' closest foe considering their past)
  3. Rha's (I don't like him but he's a hell of a fighter and a detective as well and most importantly he's Bat's unofficial father in-law ;-)
  4. Scarecrow (Batman uses fear to defeat he's enemies but this one is fear in person)
  5. Bane (let's face it, he's only one to ever defeat/clobber Bats)
  6. Riddler (He's actually the smartest one it's just a shame he doesn't know how to kick some ass)
  7. Hush (he's smart dangerous vicious and likes to dress like Two-Face in TDKR... why the hell have I put him in such a low position?!?!?!)
  8. Carmine Facone (I know he's long dead but before the psycos came to Gotham he was Bats' greateast foe)
  9. Penguin (He used to be a srupid villain but now he's a dangerous mafia leader)
  10. Killer Croc (He's green he's strong he's merciless he's vicious, what else can I say?)

Killer Croc has lost to Two-Face and no name cops before.  He got completely trashed by Bane.  He's maybe in the top half of dangerous Batman villains but the more I think about it, the less I feel he belongs in the top 10.

I'm seeing people pick Ra's al-Ghul, Scarecrow and Black Mask over Copperhead.  I'll respectfully disagree as Copperhead gave Hawk and Dove a good fight and Ra's al-Ghul, Scarecrow and Black Mask together couldn't do that.

Nobody has a pretty good list though.  I might switch Poison Ivy and David Cain out.

Ra's al Ghul is not only dangerous because of his skills, he is also one of the smartest guys in the DCU and has been shown to be able to do alot with that intellect, one of the best shows of this is during "JLA: Tower of Babel"

But it wasn't Ra's al Ghul that did that.  It was Ra's al Ghul using Batman's instructions for taking out the Justice League that did that.  On his own, Ra's could never have done have the damage he did.

I'm not talking about taking the JLA down, I'm talking about when he caused a massive world crisis in that same storyline

Not particularly.

Two-Face could kill him even without a gun more often than not and I don't think Two-Face really makes the top 10.

He's still a creepy mother though.

"Dangerous" as in "destructive or threatening" & not "prominant & tries hard but usualy fails."

*Darkseid. (oh noes! Level 20 Batman vs level 40 boss monster!)

I'm hoping Onomonopea will make that list someday, he's funny & mysterious. & I still think Jason Todd should be a villain -_-

I rate them based on their potential to cause harm foremostly based on  the damage's possible range and secondly, as a threat against Gotham and Batman.
 
1. Ra's Al Ghul - Runs an international organization of assassins, has centuries of experience, is fiendisly intelligent,  loathes humanity, know's Batman's identity, practically immortal.
2. Lex Luthor - Ingenious and has a sense of destiny. Knows his way around the underworld but can easily operate as the President.
3. The Joker  - Immensely intelligent, creative, violent and utterly out of his mind.
4. Black Mask - A strong, ruthless leader capable of grabbing Gotham's underworld by the balls.
5. Bane - A genious who has the brute force to back up his brain.
6. Hush - A very personal enemy of both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Matches him in many areas of life.
7. Clayface  - Can imitate anyone and is hard to destroy.
8. Poison Ivy - Mind control over males, plant control and hates humanity.
9. Riddler  - Is without a doubt a top contender for the smartest person on this list, but his compulsion for riddles drops him down many levels. Didn't really ever have a clear goal in mind, even when he was still a straight up villain.
10. Deathstroke - A really smart assassin.
