Spoiler alert if you haven't yet read Batman #6.

After being starved for over a week, drugged, wandering around hallucinating and then getting thrashed by Talon,

    Batman somehow does this:

What? Even for comic books this is ridiculous. This just takes the whole "I'm the goddamn Batman" concept and strains it beyond belief.

@Morpheus_: I'm going to assume you've already read the issue. Put that banhammer away.

I'm thinking a logical explanation for this is that the Talon from the labyrinth is different from the Talon from Old Wayne Tower. We know that the Talon that's hunting Bruce (presumably the same one from the tower) is named William Cobb from the solicit for Nightwing #8. The Talon from the labyrinth was put down by the Court at the end of Batman #6. So if Cobb is still going to be hunting Bruce in the next few months, he might not be the one that got his ass kicked. So maybe there's a non-jobber Talon after all?

@CitizenBane: Yep, I read the issue yesterday. While I enjoyed it, I found your complaints about Batman's comeback to be valid. It's a cool feat but it doesn't make much sense within the story. Batman narrowly escaping with his life only to regroup and win round 2 would had been more feasible instead of suddenly dominating everyone physically in spite of severe mental and physical exhaustion.

I'd like that explanation, but the Court made it seem as if it was the same assassin, one of many they were about to unleash. Cobb somehow survived the ordeal and will be back in the Night of Owls. But I would have preferred some consistency, surviving a massive fall only to be hurt and knocked out by the punches of a strained Batman is a stretch.

@Morpheus_: I thought this Talon's behavior was different from the one who attacked Bruce and March. He was a lot more talkative and he apparently couldn't heal without being given some undisclosed treatment from the Court.

@CitizenBane: It is a massive stretch but adrenaline can do a person wonders. I don't think he should've gone as far to beat Talon unconscious but enough to get away.

Ha, When I first read the title I thought it was about Batman's clash with Superman in TDK 5.

Yeah, This felt pretty anti-climactic. A few issues of hype only to be owned by a severely weakened Batman. I was somewhat dissapointed.

I'm gonna go with the traditional "he was acting, it was all a ruse to gain knowledge and an upper hand (et al)" That's usually how they do these kinds of things, but then again, I've not read the issue or the build up...

I'm a huge Bat-fan, but seriously? In previous books, wasn't it made to look like Bruce was literally on the brink of losing his mind, as well as possibly dying? I find it hard to believe that he'd be able to beat up Talon(someone who previously beat Bruce within an inch of his life, and imprisoned him in the first place) and knock him out after such an ordeal. It's kind of a massive stretch. Here's to hoping Snyder has a good explanation for this..

None of those three are 'badasses'. They're geriatric has-beens, especially Chuck Norris.

Hey, I'm speaking the truth. Seagal went hippie on us or something like that. Arnold's old, flabby, and can't act. And Norris(who was never cool in the first place), has devolved into a hyper-conservative sellout, and spawned innumerable 'jokes' that are completely devoid of humor. Yeah, they're has-beens.

If you're talking about the end where they say that he wouldn't be able to heal from the beating that he was given, I interpreted it as more of a psychological "wound" so to speak. As in he wouldn't be able to heal from the supposed humiliation.

Also, doesn't it seem that he became somewhat animalistic? Could it be because of some chemical that he ingested, or something like that? Maybe when he drank that "poisoned" water he ingested the a chemical that gave Talon his powers or whatever and that allowed for him to beat the latter. Or it could just be me being hopeful

I don't know how the comments on old action stars became an argument but it was difficult to read as I agree with both of you. The characters the old action stars portrayed were ever-prevalent badasses like Batman is supposed to be. But then they went crap when Norris got his pension, Seagal swapped exercise for fried chicken and Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis cashed up for Planet Hollywood...

But Chuck Norris was awesome in Invasion USA and Delta Force and although even I found it hard to believe, Norris was huge in the 80's thanks to the Cannon film company which also made Missing in Action. Their production, advertisement and distribution tactics just weren't as competitive and up to date as Universal or 20th Century Fox, who always ruled the roost in cinemas and home video. I don't know, those gingers do get some rough treatment :p

I honestly don't see what's so bad about it,Supes one shotted him.Batman got a cheapshot and 1 good hit.On top of that we're still not sure what the serum is capable of.Compared to what this book normally gives us I think this was MUCH better handled.

@entropy_aegis: No idea, all I know is that Finch thinks Batman can do all that stuff. If Clayface couldn't beat Batman despite being on a drug that enhances strength, the serum is some weak crap. So why would it suddenly boost Batman's strength to the point where he can hurt Superman?

And yet Harvey Dent on that serum destroyed Batman, until the effects wore off.I honestly think Clayface was'nt supposed to be there, most likely that fight was written with the Joker in mind.DC has pulled a similar stunt before(Jason Todd/Clayface).

@entropy_aegis: So how did Batman survive hits from someone on a drug that enhances strength to the point where you can hurt Superman? One punch that can hurt a Kryptonian should have killed him immediately, especially since it's unlikely Dent was holding back.
