well I've loved Morrison's run on batman ever since it started lol

he really reinvents the dark knight for a modern reader using things of the past and in good ways. I bet that we'll see Damian again in this story

Let's hope so, i don't want a rushed version of this.

Batman has basically saved everyone at some point in the DCU, so this will have some massive domin effects if he's not around.

Yeah I don't see them killing him off. Batman is too popular at the moment. When they killed off Superman, his popularity was declining. But anyways, I'll check out this issue since I'm already reading his run.

It'd probably cause a spike in Batman interest, causing the movie to actually do better. Look at Captain America.

I just think this is such a cheap and lame story line. Just another waste of a year or two of comics really. DC just so wasn't broken, it didn't need a pointless crossover like crisis and it certainly doesn't need this endless incestuous swapping of the same lame duck fanboy writers between Marvel and DC.

In a world of writers and artists, why are we hearing the same old names year in and year out?

It's like the John Byrne Process (tortured pregnant woman, reimagined powers, fossilised villains brought back, mousy female team mate gets sexed up to bejeesus) multiplied by infinity these days. We have the Bendis Process, the Morrison Process, etc.etc.

This is why so few people read comics. This constant retreading.

What, everybody wants their own spin on a classic story. You haven't even read the book you can't judge the book by it's.....ok so the cover looks cool, okay so don't judge the book by it's premise or something like that. There are many graphic novels who have silly names and laughable but the actual thing comes off as a masterpiece.

Part 3 of "Batman R.I.P."! Batman's mysterious adversary has won. All is lost for the Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne is now deranged and dissociated, wandering homeless in the alleys of Gotham City. Is there a chance that Bruce can rebuild his Batman identity from scratch, or is this truly the end for one of the world's finest heroes?

The events of "Batman R.I.P." carve a path of destruction through Tim's life, threatening to rip apart the entire foundation of what made him choose to take on the role of Robin in the first place.

Tim's on the run and, with Batman's life at stake, he can't afford to make one misstep. Don't miss Part 1 of a shocking 2-part story that will irrevocably change Tim Drake's present as Robin…and his hard-won future as Batman.

There is no way DC will kill off Batman now or at any time. Even if Batman did "die" then they would find a way to bring him back to life again (As per Superman, Professor-X, Superboy Prime, and all of the other characters who have supposedly been killed over the years). The result of this is that the death of any character no longer has a shock impact upon the readership as we all know there is a strong possibility the character might come back! Why comic companies can't have the courage of their convictions and leave dead characters dead I will never know. Create some knew character for goodness sake instead of trying to explain why and how someone didn't really die! Anyway, it won't happen to Batman.

From what I heard it's not a graphic novel. From what I heard it's Batman #676. At the moment until Batman #676 comes out I'm taking it as a rumor. Everything I hear I take as a rumor until something comes out prooving or disprooving it.

I honestly think this is one of any of the following labels:

1.] Absolutely atrocious.... move. Writing AND mythos/character/fandom-wise.

2.] Completely 'out of character' decision to kill off the one super hero who was so intimidating and powerful enough to be regarded as 'unkillable', in terms of everything. Yes, he is human; but to kill him off whether figuratively (crazy hobo ploy) or literally: ruins the whole point of Batman and Bruce Wayne. Might as well have given him laserbeams-for-eyes and immunity to acid years ago.

3.] The role/alter ego of 'Batman' is Bruce Wayne, and Wayne's only. It is not a 'mask' or a role that can be handed to somebody else. Batman was created when Bruce's parents got shot. You cannot hand the cowl over to somebody (from the POV of the character AND as a writer, OOCly) 'here, you be Batman!'.

4.] Whoever 'takes the role' is not Batman. It will just be 'Robin/Nightwing'; another emo, whiny ahem. Nobody can take Batman's place.

Unfortunately I'd have to pick all three; not just one of the above tactics/points. =|

Don't even get me started on how it will devastate the points, roles, future outlooks, and the BASIS for the other characters, such as The Joker or Jim Gordon. Or even Oracle.
