Perhaps it was lost on me
This was the first batman TPB I read, and to be honest it bored the hell out of me. I'm going to assume that because it was not so much a reboot of the series as it was a tweaking of the beginning story of Batman that the slight changes were lost on me, but whatever the reason was, it's the only comic to date (apart from Superman: Day Of Doom) that I had massive trouble getting into.
I found the art dated and uninteresting, the lettering was difficult to read, and the story seemed to drag on and on.
Hopefully when I'm more familiar with the Batman universe I'll be able to come back to this and have the positive reactions the reviews above me had, but at the moment I have to say it's the most boring comic I've ever read.
