In this issue Batman realises that the sensory depravation expirement that Doctor Hurt put him into was a trap of the mind. He also realizes that he is being hypnotized by someone, and in a battle of wills, he retrieves his mind back from the lump. Well, If I am to be completely honest, I would have to admit that I have been confused more than once by the R.I.P. storyline.
Now I am just dissappointed. Given the fact that we were told this would be the "last Batman story", I like I am sure a lot of people are, that we have to follow into issue six of the Final Crisis to see the fate of Batman. On the other hand, this issue was just one long Badass Batman moment. It was like the JLA White Martian moment.
Except it lasted 22 pages. It shows us once again that Batman plans for every eventuality. So as an individual issue I can't recommend this book more. As a finale to the R.I.P. storyline, it falls short of its promise.

everything that I thought was happening in #682 was shown in this issue to be correct wen i said that it his end would be in final crisis i was right it said it would end in final crisis #6. I think thats a middle finger to many people right there i mean lots of people expcted his end to be in R.I.P. not final crisis. The best bit about this issue is that it gave Alfred a final monologue which is like a closing fanfare which captures Morrison’s take on the character perfectly and it allows us to sympathise with him on a small level as he walks away.
